She’s based in South Africa now.
Albert, there’s a ex-Saudi beautie based up at Humberside Airport in Saudi colours 🙂
Excellent shots Chris 😀
Bandwidth exceeded 😮
Some day, a formation with TFC’s FAA-marked Wildcat and Corsair added would be nice………. 🙂
Nice pics, Mark and Consul.
Get the Avenger over from France too 🙂
Mandrolic wing folding mechanism. Lovely 🙂
Well done Mark, great pictures, what a formation indeed, had a nice display over Yeovilton this afternoon from the Sea Fury, I guess on its return from OW.
Come on Bob, ‘nice’ doesn’t do it justice!
Well done to all involved with the formation 🙂
Definitely can’t make it I’m afraid. I’m booked as a taxi driver, though do hope to see something with wings whilst I’m there!
He will be flying the aircraft at Old Warden on Sunday……possibly with one OW resident and two others that may possibly be linked with him….. 😉
Great news, his displays in the Skyraider are awesome. Wow.
Hopefully JB and Phil will get to share the two aeroplanes over the season.
BAA have already rejected calls to change the name a couple of months ago, saying it would confuse the passengers.
They claim that there is enough named after him in the Airport and the surrounding areas.
She, along with F6A XJ639, was sold on eBay earlier this month for around £3500.
The winning bidder is, I believe, based in the North of England but where exactly I’m not sure.
One word…
Superb. 😎
She’s booked for Clacton I think?
I caught it on the way home Jamie, don’t worry.
Wipers were on full speed, and I still couldn’t see the Ford Focus in front 🙂
She’s actually a FGA.4, not 6. She was never fitted with the uprated engine, unlike WV908.
All the more reason to get her under cover (when space permits).
She must be one of only two Mk.4s left extant alongside WV903, unless you know different Lee?
Thanks for the comments guys.
That is indeed Sea Hawk FGA.6 WV911 in the background.
It’ll never fly again as the paperwork has gone missing, which is a real shame as it was at one point a potential flier.
Cliff, all were taken outside the fence at Yeovilton, and were all shot at between 200mm and 250mm lens focal length on a Canon D60.
