Kennet Aviation do seem to change colour schemes of its aircraft occasionally, so who knows what might happen in the future.
I must admit the 764NAS aeroplanes above do look good though 🙂
Now that is a beast 🙂
I look forward to seeing it display this year sometime.
Good thread Albert.
My first flight occurred in July 1989 at RNAS Yeovilton. I was seven years of age and our mount was an Air Atlantique Dakota.
I remember telling the Stewardess it was my first flight, as you can imagine I was quite excited 🙂
edit – Just discovered it was G-AMSV 🙂
The BBMF also have PM631 (I think?).
PS915 spent time as a gateguard during the 60s and 70s, and rejoined the BBMF after a full rebuild in the 1980s. Not sure when it was completed though, possibly 1988?
…Yeovilton? I should hope so! 😀
Neil “Joe” Mercer was quite good when he was in the Fleet Air Arm.
Dougal to Barker “Sir, it was only a few weeks ago that you told us you’d be putting an end to night patrol for good?
Barker to Dougal Yes I did Dougal, but in a funny old sort of a way, I lied.”
“Close the door please Tully…”
I have it on VHS somewhere, it was shown on Sky channel UK Drama a couple of years ago. I’m sure it’ll be shown again at some point.
The following (list probably incomplete) all wore that particular Macaws scheme (JP Mk.4s)
XP558
XP672
XP680
XR667
XR701
XS177
XS180
XS219
JP photos 😀
Thanks for posting.
The Macaws’ final season was in 1973.
Two pilots that I can confirm are Flt. Lt. Brian Hoskins (1) and Flt Lt. Peter Diggance (No.4).
VR930 could have a playmate at Legends and at Yeovilton in 2006/7 🙂
What a job 🙂
That shot of XV760 on the gate brings back memories!
Always thought the nose looked a little strange.
I thought I spotted Lee Proudfoot this morning, so quite possible.
Gorgeous 😀
The Spitfires involved are
Mk.XVIII SM845
Mk.IX TA805
Mk.V BM597
Mk.XVI TD248 I think.
…and TR.IX G-CCCA.
The Spitfire (G-CCCA/’161′) and Harvard did some formation flying over Eastleigh at around 1330hrs.
What a sound!
