Yes. RN 750 Sqn still have a few T.2s, whilst Heron Flight still use at least two, possibly three of the four T.3s.

Has Kennet sold one of their Gnats?
Kennet did sell G-BVPP/’XR993′ during early 2003 to Red Gnat Ltd, but it is still looked after by Kennet at Weald.

No, I think the best combination would be Seafire / Sea Fury and Tempest II / Tempest V 😮
Well that would be acceptable I suppose 😀 😉

It was out ground running a couple of weeks ago.I understand the Seafire has been booked for Legends. 🙂
Perhaps a Seafire/Sea Fury duo and Tempest/Sea Fury duo is very much a possibility then for Legends 🙂

I think The Neil Moffatt Gannet was rescued from Leuchars before it started its new job as a BDRT airframe.
Could be wrong though 🙂

Yes. Hopefully she’ll return to Duxford in July with Kennet Aviation’s Seafire 🙂

XX466 was only in FRADU service for a short time, estimated to have started in February 1984 and ending in October that same year. The Hunter respray programme started that year, so it (luckily 😉 ) missed out.
Two shots of XX466 in her former glory…
RNAS Yeovilton 1984 – (c) Martin Morley

RNAS Culdrose 1991 – (c) Geoff Wakeham

I’d love to rescue it!
Any ideas where I could get any information on it?

😮
XX466, I thought you were dead?

Yes, but it’s not them either. The Blades were flown by 1FTS at Linton-on-Ouse and the Swords from 3FTS/Leeming.
I’m working on a new JP site at the moment and have researched all the teams, or at least I thought I had! 😉
It’s a mystery
Those two JPs are from 6FTS and that rules the Pelicans out.
I’ll see if I can find out.

Probably go after a two seat Sea Fury myself. Pretty sure there are one or two left that haven’t been ‘Skyraiderised’ with R3350s 🙂

The investigation is still going on and it is unlikely that the full results of the accident report will be made public.
I don’t recall any reports being publicised about the losses of TF956 and WG655 so I would assume the same policy would apply.
I do think it’s unwise to speculate on the cause as manonthefence and duxfordhawk have already stated.

Question for Gannet lovers:What happened to the Gannet that was on the display circuit in the UK (late 80’s/early 90’s?)? A very tidy looking machine…I remember Flypast publishing an article on it and IIRC the owner/pilot was interviewed and was very enthusiastic.
That aircraft (XL502) is currently in open store at Sandtoft, which can’t be doing much for its health. It was retired from the airshow scene in 1988/9 I think?
