No fair, and Im out playing with my fire engine this weekend GRRRRRRR
Bex
Here’s another one just to keep you going and to keep the Americans happy.
There was a time when these pics were as common as muck….good old days!
Once again, courtesy of 43 Squadron.Beat Wishes.
Robert.
Those were the days, when we had proper aeroplanes, F4’s & Lightnings chasing after the “Big Bad Bears” LoL No offence to the “Young uns” that grew up on Tonkas & Jaguars 😀 Bex
good advice, do you mean MS flight simulator 2004 version 😉
Sorry yes I mean MS FLight Sim 2004. I forgot to mention Im planning to give him my old lap top with MS FS2000 installed on it once he can fly it himself.
Bex
Hmm thats not an easy one, but, Im teaching my 5yr old (its 5 in a couple of weeks now LoL) to fly using FS 9 (2004) got everything set as simple as poss and he now knows wot he needs to use. He can take off but thats it at the moment LoL Bex
I cant wait to see 558 in the air, so near yet so far. I know seeing the Ol Girl back in the air again will really make my day, yes I know she aint a Cranberry but shes one of a few of the most gorgeous aircraft ever to grace the skies as far as Im concerned.
Just a thought, is there, or is it worth setting up a Vulcan / favourite aircraft memories thread? I mean something along the lines of “I remember these” if anyone can translate my gobbledegook 😀 Bex
Nearly FInished
Just a quick update, all painting nearly finished, just got a white circle to add on the engine cowlings then I can get the decals on. Bex
Youre Welcome
Keith,
Youre welcome 😀 I would have thought if anyone can provide you with a specific photo, then our 320psi (Andy) might be able to help. Hes one of the LPG gang up at Brunty. But as you can see from my Lightning thread, it wont take long for someone to help, I asked for 74 Sqn silver & black, and thats what I got and you can see the end result here: http://www.bexwh773.fotopic.net and then look for “Bex & Heidi’s Technicolour Airforce” LoL Bex
This one was recently covered on this forum, North weald has been confirmed apparently to remain open and operational though there has been and will continue to be a series of developements around the airfield outskirts these can be seen from the A40, as accomodation for several army units is built as they are to be relocated to North Weald, this has been accompanied by the demolition of one of the hangars and other sundry buildings though reports the the officers mess building was to be among these seems to be a little vauge.
I think u might be confusing RAF Northolt with North Weald. The M11 runs near the airfield not the A40 😀 Bex

Welcome
Keith,
Welcome to the forum, I recently built a 1:72 scale Lightning and members of the forum provided me with photos and a profile art shot aswell. John is one of our resident Lightning nuts and thats a cracking photo hes got. Me, well anything Canberra related is likely to attract my attention very rapidly LoL
I will do a quick search and find you the link to thread I started about my model project.
Bex
Heres the link:

Glad 319 could be of service. Now at least you can see WHY we have to save her – the outside is knackered, but the inside is factory fresh!
😀 😀
Sounds like a certain ex Wyton bird who I shouldnt mention the outside might look bad but the inside looks spot on. You and your colleagues are doing a cracking job and these updates just prove how much you are all committed to the museum, they should be proud be of you. Oh my “Negotiations” are still ongoing and have presently stalled LoL But if u fancy seeing a live Lanc and meeting up, we’ll be at East Kirkby in October. Keep up the the most excellent work. Oh have u managed to track down any AM78’s yet? Bex
Thanks for that!
Final question – bare stone, or painted?
John,
Sis reckons on bare stone as shes never seen any painted before either on RAF or RAF/USAF bases. However, we stand to be corrected though 😀 Bex
John, my sister reckons its an “Air Ministry boundary marker” she used to work for the RAF & USAF as a “Sillyvillian”
Bex
Gutted, Ive only had my copy for a couple of months LoL and now it can be downloaded for nowt…………….POOOOOOOOOOO 🙁 Bex
You seem almost pleased Bex. Both the Sea Harrier and the F4 fin are tangible pieces of aviation history, clearly recognizable to anyone with more than a passing interest in aviation. People have paid a lot more money for what many would consider a lot less in this market, and yet been more than happy with their purchases. Different people place different values on such things.
Er I dont think so please try again. Now, I did inject a slight bit of humour into my previous post, but that was about the Phantom fin, and my friend Phantom Phixer. As for the SHar, most people on the forum seem to agree that £28k is a wee bit excessive, and being nearly 33 yrs old I have been studying military history since I was 6 years old so I might just have a little idea how important these aircraft were (however F4’s were not used in anger by the FAA or RAF whereas the SHar was) need I go on?
Bex
hey john, are these overalls any good for jeeps and jets, what doyou reckon.
Be ok if a few tanks turned up but, for working ya guts out on your lovely ladies then spot on. Bex
