Pay Rises in line with inflation but more inline with with the politicians who send our troops off to war.

Retain aircraft until a proper replacement is in place….. Canberra PR9 for example.

Expand the BBMF to cover one of every type of RAF aircraft ever flown to rename it as “RAF Memorial Flight”

For the FAA, proper Airraft Carriers returned to service ASAP

    Kept the Sea Harrier

Binned the Eurofighter “Mickey Mouse” Typhoon for a proper aeroplane.

Im not “Vulcan’d” out but Im skint Id give my right arm to able to support both the Sea Vixen & Vulcan but any spare pennies I have go to a certain lovely little Cranberry. Oh by the way, my 4 yr old step son knows what a Sea Vixen is, along with a Canberra, Phantom, Shacklecon (not a typo thats how he says it LoL) HUnter & Whirlywind (again “Sammy Speak”) Buccaneer

Seriously though if for just a brief moment, I got a museum open to attend, so all the best to the AA Cranberry pilot. One day I’ll get to see the Old Lady in action. Bex

that sounds like a plan and a half! can you imagine the looks on the faces of the curators when one morning they arrive and 220 is on the ramp outside fully powered up and shaking the doors of the hangars with her exhaust! this has to be done! :diablo:

Hmm now that would be fun to watch, specially the heart attacks & brown y front moments LoL

Dont forget bribing the Museum that has the rather nice TSR2 engines. Oh I do believe my post about the wiring looms might just have given away the fact we might just be having some fun. ANyone who has anything to do with airframe restoration would have guessed that using a magnifying glass to rewire a wiring loom was a cracking joke. I wrote it and Im trying to redo a sliced wiring loom on an airframe anyways.

I must say though this a cracking fun thread and Im enjoying it. Hey anyone fancy a COmmando raid on COssy so we can sneak in at night and start our work??? Finally, if I had the chance to work on it, Rat & Drain Pipe spring to mind :diablo: Bex

    a New Question

    Paul,

Thanks for that bit about Jack, however, time for a new question, I have a copy of Jock’s obituary which mentions the crash and his actions, however the question is this:

What was Jacks surname, as you have mentioned him twice now as Jack Treadwell & the Obituary I have states TreadGOLD?

John, Glad I made ya blush LoL Come on everyone, lets have a good laugh for once, anyone else?

Mart, I know how you feel, when ya young and reckless you think ya favourite aeroplanes will just keep flying. But then again, when I was a kid, I never thought the Berlin Wall would come down, the “Big Bad Russians” would nuke us to kingdom come if we sneezed at the wrong time AND I never thought our GOvernments would make the same mistakes they made in 1918 (Oh eck I wasnt a kid when started that one Doh) Bex

Paul, well this certainly explains why I was having trouble tracking things down, especially not knowing where Sealand was and being confused by 2 different places being combined into one bit of infomation……..

John, I imagined that it would have been a horrendous crash, just from what Jock told me, mind you he’d never told me that Jack had died 2 weeks after the crash, but being about 10 at the time I can understand why he’d been a bit cagy about the exact details. But having seen your photo, ruddy ell, grabbing an asbestos blanket and nowt else, well the mind boggles. Bex

    Paul,
Well that certainly clears it all up, specially the aerodrome bit. So would I be right in saying then that the link that Moggy has posted is the correct one? Bex

G-ORDY, that photo is great thank you. Im amazed this stuff is on the net, although I keep coming up blank on the RAF Barton bit. I dont even know where Sealand is to be honest. In those days Jock was doing silly things with aeroplanes so anything is possible LoL Bex
