What a beauty! 😎

Progress like this in space systems is what the evil empire didn’t want India to achieve and tried to scuttle the project starting the early 90s with good success.

@ MSphere,
Starting around 8.55 in the RT Arabic video.
A Ruskie Ka-52

Last weekend, the Syrian army captured Jirah airbase in north east Aleppo and pocketed few villages surrounding it this week and continue to advance with the help of a handful of Russian and Syrian airstrikes. Its almost a wastage to use hight flying aircrafts to fight the guys in deserts, the helo gunships would have been the best assets in these areas.

The southern deserts info is getting blacked out and some reports say the Syrian army is around 25Km from the Iraqi border. It remains to be seen what the Jihadi coalition is going to do whose main objective is to create a safe sanctuary for Jhadis along the borders and keep the Syrian theatre hot for as long as possible. Below shows the likely position last week.

Ariel shots of murican/Jordanian base inside Jordan to support the moderate jihadis was shown last week, courtesy the Hezbollah drones that went inside Jordan. I wonder what drones they are using.

There are multiple thread, so posting the space launcher related stuff here… if possible merge the two.
Good input regarding the latest missile launch and the new ingeniously designed engine that Koreans used for this missile test.
Even though they used this brand new engine for a new missile test of historic significance (not sure if this is what they meant when they tested those engine), I don’t think for a strategic missile system, they will stick to it. Its going to be replaced by a solid motor if we go by their recent track record. But this new liquid fueled engine is going to be the base for their current and planned future space launchers.

The range estimated for this new missiile is no less than 4,500Km. Even for that range we don’t know what was the payload carried, though the Koreans mentioned the missile can carry a “large-size heavy nuclear warhead”.

Good input regarding the latest missile launch and the new ingeniously designed engine that Koreans used for this missile test.
Finally we see the Koreans testing their longer range missiles to almost their full range. But most of the experts are surprised by the new missile test and the progress made by the Koreans.
I don’t know how long the link to the official press release will be available, so posting it full.

Kim Jong Un Guides Test-Fire of New Rocket
A test-fire of new ground-to-ground medium long-range strategic ballistic rocket Hwasong-12 was successfully carried out on Sunday by scientists and technicians in the field of rocket research, who are bravely advancing toward a new goal to be proud of in the world, true to the far-sighted idea of Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People’s Army, for building a nuclear power.
Kim Jong Un guided the test-fire on the spot.
Looking at Hwasong-12, he expressed his satisfaction over the possession of another “Juche weapon”, a perfect weapon system congruous with the military strategic and tactical idea of the WPK and the demand of the present times.
The test-fire was conducted at the highest angle in consideration of the security of neighboring countries. The test-fire aimed at verifying the tactical and technological specifications of the newly-developed ballistic rocket capable of carrying a large-size heavy nuclear warhead.
According to the order of Kim Jong Un, the new rocket Hwasong-12 was launched at 04:58 on Sunday.
The rocket accurately hit the targeted open waters 787km away after flying to the maximum altitude of 2,111.5km along its planned flight orbit.
The test-fire proved to the full all the technical specifications of the rocket, which was newly designed in a Korean-style by defence scientists and technicians, like guidance and stabilization systems, structural system and pressurization, inspection and launching systems and reconfirmed the reliability of new rocket engine under the practical flight circumstances.
It also verified the homing feature of the warhead under the worst re-entry situation and accurate performance of detonation system.
Kim Jong Un hugged officials in the field of rocket research, saying that they worked hard to achieve a great thing. And he had a picture taken with officials, scientists and technicians who took part in the test-fire.
Highly appreciating again their devotion for manufacturing the Korean-style medium long-range strategic ballistic rocket, he gave a special thanks to them on behalf of himself.
He said with confidence that the successful test-fire of Hwasong-12, a demonstration of high-level defence science and technology of the DPRK, is of great and special significance for securing peace and stability in the Korean peninsula and the region and is the greatest victory of the Korean people.
He declared that the DPRK is a nuclear power worthy of the name whether someone recognizes it or not. He stressed the DPRK will keep strict control over those engaging themselves in nuclear blackmail with its nuclear deterrence which has been unimaginably and rapidly developed.
The U.S. massively brought nuclear strategic assets to the vicinity of the Korean peninsula to threaten and blackmail the DPRK, but the coward American-style fanfaronade militarily browbeating only weak countries and nations which have no nukes can never work on the DPRK and is highly ridiculous, he said, stressing that if the U.S. dares opt for a military provocation against the DPRK, we are ready to counter it.
The most perfect weapon systems in the world will never become the eternal exclusive property of the U.S., he said, expressing the belief that the day when the DPRK uses the similar retaliatory means will come. He continued that on this occasion, the U.S. had better see clearly whether the ballistic rockets of the DPRK pose actual threat to it or not.
If the U.S. awkwardly attempts to provoke the DPRK, it will not escape from the biggest disaster in the history, he said, strongly warning the U.S. not to disregard or misjudge the reality that its mainland and Pacific operation region are in the DPRK’s sighting range for strike and that it has all powerful means for retaliatory strike.
He gave the scientists and technicians in the field of rocket research the order to continuously develop more precise and diversified nukes and nuclear striking means, not content with the successes, and make preparations for more tests till the U.S. and its vassal forces make a proper choice with reason.

The long march towards Iraqi border without much of an air cover.

Russian Special Operations Forces (SSO) servicemen were awarded for repelling murican allies attack on their position in Aleppo. 16 men were on a mission to aid the VKS in their strikes on Jihadi positions, and in the course of their deployment, they had to fight off almost 300 Jihadis over a period of 2 days. Not sure when and exactly where it happened, but this was most likely before the start of the final Aleppo battle when the Jihadis made gains on the Syrian defensive positions in the western sector. These guys act independently of the Syrian forces.
Syria as of 11th May 2017

Syrian army and allies are advancing in parallel in the south east direction to reach the Iraqi border, this was initiated as a response to the Jihadi coalition moving along the Jordanian border.

The Syrians are progressing slowly towards the Iraqi border with some old Russian AD stuff taking into account the Jihadi airforces. But these are not adequate, they need few Tungushka or Pantsir and Buk-M2s to really have some decent bubble considering that not much of an air cover is going to be there.

RT Arabic Victory Day parade video from Khmiemim airbase gives us a glimpse of 3 Russian special aircrafts – 1 x A-50 and possibly 2 x IL-20M (one looks like an upgraded variant) and another smaller turboprop with high mount engines which I cant recognise. Probably an An-140?
Yesterday Syrian blogs posted an aircraft claiming it to be a Tu-214R…from the pic it doesn’t look so..

Good report from Russian airbase.

The most rediculous thing that I have heard on some other forums regarding Russian presence and objectives in Syria is that Russia has already achieved its goal and they can have the Syrian western coast and a permanent presence in Latakia even if Syria cease to exist…. I dont know if these morons even have any brains to understand that its impossible to have such a fantasy land as long as the moderate Jihadis are armed with BM-21 Grads and possibly longer range projectiles courtesy their western masters eager to kick some Russian ars.
I was talking about the failed Tabqa offensive.
The Russian servicemen seen in that Palmyra VBIED video was not killed according to the the reports that came out later.
Russia has been the one calling the shots in Syria (allmost all the operation, if not all) and thats what we get to see from the way the frontlines moved since the west Aleppo operation back in 2015 when the Syrian and allied forces were aiming to push towards the two besieged areas inside Idlib. The Syria forces had gained good momentum with the help of VKS with the start of the Russian campaign, but that offensive was halted and few months later all the gains were lost.
There are many such instances and the last major one was Palmyra….. every tom, , and harry knew that the radical IS Jihadis will be forced migrated to Syrian theatre from Iraq to ease the murican fighting in Iraq and make it harder for Russia in Syria, yet what we saw was the take over of Palmyra by the jihadis. So who was to blame for it? The Syrians? Or the Russians, who runs the show in Syria?
And …C’mon, the VKS strength in Syria is very limited and every one knows that. They are simply in no position to support combat operation in every front. Syria does not have the assets and the might to fight a multi-national terrorist outlets all alone and the reason why they called Russia for help. If Russia cannot do its part and protect Syria, pack up and go home. Leave them to their fate. Thats the most sincere way to do it.
From all the news report of that time (reported widely and with fanfare), it was a Russian initiated plan to take on Raqqa, and promoted by the media as a US Vs Russia race for Raqqa.
The Russians was to support the offensive and had their small units along with the Syrians. If anyone remember, there was some reports around the same time of that offensive about the Russian gunship fleet being grounded due to some problems.
Btw, it was the Russian units who withrew first (to protect/avoid casualities) once the VBIEDs and suicides vests started striking the supply lines and then the rest of the offensive collapsed and had to make a hasty retreat.
There is no point in putting all blame on the Syrians, as Russia was the initator of that offensive (like in many other areas) and as the one who panned it out, it was their responsiblity to take into consideration all factors of the battlefield.
Simply hiding the mistakes of the Russian side (as it appreas from whatever info was available) wont help anyone, neither Russians nor the Syrians. Its better to learn from past mistakes and improve.
Regarding tanks, yes it could be lucky…but the T-62M were lucky not once, there were atleast 4 x T-62M that were lucky and escaped catastrophic results from missile strikes.
Combat in Syria has proven that neither T-90 nor T-73B3 can be taken out with a single TOW-2 strike, even a T-62M will withstand the strike without any secondary catastrophic explosion. But the turret sides and rear are a problamatic area (like any other tank) due to thinner armour. The Syrian forces lost couple of MBTs in the past few of days to the Jihadis and most likely their softer side was exposed to the missile.
And just as we thought we have seen the best of the upgrades on T-72 (& T-90), we see yet another beautiful upgrade to adress the side and rear turret that will help the T-series to soldier on for many more years. Even those T-62M which was supplied by Russia recently would do much better in built-up urban areas with a side & rear slabs of ERA and skirting.
Truly loving it. Cant wait to see those side slabs appearing on the inservice T-90s.
New offensives to liberate Deir-Ez-Zorr started off immediately after the de-esclation deal which tell us that the forces were already prepared. Like always the Jihadi coilation tried their best to delay the operation and the 4th April strike on Sharyat airbase was to this affect. Sharyat airbase was the main hub for Syrian/Russian forces to support Deir-Ez-Zorr and the ammo and such are stocked up there.

^ The Russians have not yet upped their aircraft inventory and it remains to be seen how much they can support the very long march across the deserts. Hope they dont mess it up like the last time w.r.t to Tabqa offensive, where the critical VKS air support, which was promised before the startt of the operation, never really came.
Not exactly breaking news, posting it coz the useles RT cannot make even half decent reports.
The british propaganda machinery doesnt want their A team to do the job, so they offshore it to their B team in Qatar.
