I consider myself as a modeller of average ability, and it still isn’t worth it! :diablo:

    Very impressive model though…

considder it this way then !1 a non modeller , but with good diy abilitys wants to buy and make to that level of finnish

    kit £60.00

    airbrush and compressor £200.00

    paints £30.00

    sundries ,tools etc
    from scratch £70.00

    time and electricity
    if costed to customer £100.00

be honnest , do you go to work for free ??? no !! well why should others !!

i’m unsure if it is available commercialy in that scale apart from a kit

if not it is a one off custom built item being offered

you do not pay the same price for a mini as a bespoke carriage built vehicle

🙂 Just watched it and thought it was terrific.Unfortunately when you have ” personalities ” famous or otherwise 50% will like them,30% not too bothered and 20% hate them but that shouldn’t detract from the real reason it was made and shown.
    )

exactly !! but my point is !!

if you cannot sell a programme on the real stars ( the spitfire and those who flew in the B.O.B. ! )

    in britain !!

a star is going to make little difrence

even non aviation fans know and love the spitfire

if someone has no intrest ewan mcgreggor or whoever the flavour is presently , will not drag any more viewers away from corronation street !!

it is great seeing young people being enthusiastic !! , but why not a non famous grandchild of an actual B.O.B. pilot ??

i would far rather do that than give another star a highly saught after experience

it is starting to be getting done to death by one man and his celebrity

just recently and just in spitfires , david jason , the top gear team , ewan mcgreggor !!

there are just as many if not more would watch , and indeed it would probably have still got the same slot if it wasn’t someone famous

as a lot of people are starting to get fed up with celebrity culture

it is not for no reason big brother has gone under , and x factor is starting to head there too !!

sureley he must be agnostic rather than a catholic though !!!

” god will save me !! , but errrr just in case , order it with airbags , bullet proof glass , armour , nbc filtering ..

and ironicly we now find out he could have been taken out by a cleaner sneakily placing some pot pouri !!:)

Not convinced Ewan brought much to the party, but I guess he was ‘The Name’ that sold the idea to the money men.

    Moggy

for me personaly ewan made my eyes glaze over with boredom !! i fell asleep .

it would have been far superior with just his brother

but as it was we had to have ” look at me i’m ewan mcgreggor !! ” sticking his beak in

a lot of people are getting sick of todays celebrity everything culture

the idea of the modern jet pilot whos done the modern sort of equivalent going back to those aircraft was superb

the whole concept was spoiled by a self fame seeking star publicising himself !!

unsure !! but on the thumper theme , there was also a p47 with thumper nose art so it was probably very popular !!

i’ll fully agree with the first two choices !!

however i turned off and my eyes glazed over and i fell asleep when the mcgeggor one came on !!

the most fascinating part was actualy his brother ( the programme would have stood better with him alone !! )

what i saw of it was great filming but not enough to keep me awake personaly

but then i have just endured a weekend of floods , waking up in a tent 6 inches underwater , mild hypothermia , a mate griping all weekend cos he thinks he’s broken a rib going a**e over t*t over the tent guy rope
    severe hangover after friday night

all to see ten minuites of the real things ….. priceless !!

The popemobile is based on a mercedes M-class, specifically the ML350. It travels due to its powerful 3.5 liter 4-valve V6 providing 272Hp.

    sorry, could not resist

it sounds good until you sit down and work out the weight it is hauling

the vehicle is bomb proof , bullet proof and gas attack proof

no matter how big the engine or how good the chassis it is never going to be good at performance figures !!

Now it would be foolish for me to argue with the likes of Carl Sagen! 😀 But…

…taking the ‘first few hundred million years’ of Earth’s history as 1000,000,000 years then 3,000,000,000,000,000 tons of comets (water) is going to be arriving at a rate of 3,000,000 tons a year!

Wasn’t the Tunguska explosion in Siberia in 1908 that flattened 2000 square kilometres of forest supposed to be a comet (estimated as ‘a few tens of metres’ across)? So, I’m sure we’d notice 3,000,000 tons of comets arriving every year! :diablo:

So when did that all stop?

Obviously the rate of comet impact must have slowed, so that begs the question why?

It all stopped a few billion years ago , but when the solar system was forming
5 billion years ago our little part of the universe was a very violent place.

the russian explosion you mention is now being reccognised as an arial explosion rather than an impact the reason why the devastation spread so far !!
