I was doing a display on the “Wigan & District” Spitfire Display
It was all part of the local RAFA BoB Day event
yep sure is !!
they had a little cameo set up with it at southport airshow
i photographed it for a portraits copetition and took second place !!
beaten by a funny candid shot !!
simply titled ” waiting !!”

gary numans ex harvard still looks good !!
I’m almost certain that it could.
pretty sure the engines were independant isn’t the telegraph merely a visual signal to the engine room workers
an out of the ordinary request was sureley spoken
although if no telephone it would have been too slow to send a runner
but it would be almost a certanty they could be run independently in opposite directions !!

Remember them?
oh yes !! the viva “e” and firenza shared the same shell ! nice cars !!
I wasn’t complaing…just making a comment.
I agree, if you want it done right, hire a pro. That’s why one of my old cars is in a restoration shop right now and not my garage.
oh no there goes another can of worms !!:diablo:
you didn’t give an open cheque did you ???
used to restore classics , learned techniques working in engineering , and restoring opel monza 3.0 gse’s at my friends garage
a task akin to the forth bridge !!

Also forgot to say, how refreshing that this programme gave equal billing and respect to the Luftwaffe crews, the memorial shown to the four unknown airmen was beautifully simple.
and a sobering comment from a local
” it didn’t matter what nationality they were , young people had died !!”
vey toutching !!
unfortunate it did not get a deserved bbc 1 or 2 slot !!
this was the programme it should all be about ( the people who were actualy there !! )
even something as simple as the archeaologist handing the veteran pilot his cannopy handle he’d dug up , the pilots last contact was as he bailed out !!
relatively speaking we have those that remain for very few years now .
we should talk and listen to them more and ignore the celebrity
once they have gone they can no longer pass on information !!
a thing taught to me as a child when visiting the festival of remembrance every year
i would watch the ww1 chelsea pensioners thin out until recently the last tommy left us
now it is hearsay rather than hearing it from the horses mouth !!
Appearently professional model builders get good money.
I asked a friend who runs a modeler’s website for some information about an old, rare kit I wanted built. Rather, I’d like to have painted, the building is very elemental…but the painting is the key.
He said it would be about $1000. Wow.
exactly they do what others can’t i’m gradualy getting used to an airbrush ( using and using well is a vastly huge difrence ) wich only comes from many years practice .
you can spend more money buying it all yourself making a piece of c***p you wouldn’t display in your toilet
then have to pay for the proper item on top !!
most who see do not apreciate the hours and skill in model building to that standard
if you think that is dear keep an eye on good quality ww2 german armour dioramas
i have seen some sell on fleabay for upwards of £1000,00

kit £60.00
airbrush and compressor £200.00
paints £30.00
sundries ,tools etc

time and electricity
if costed to customer £100.00
be honnest , do you go to work for free ??? no !! well why should others !!
i’m unsure if it is available commercialy in that scale apart from a kit
if not it is a one off custom built item being offered
you do not pay the same price for a mini as a bespoke carriage built vehicle
