Remembering, of course, it was a Brit that ‘invented’ the net 😉

it was a brit that invented the fully moveable tail plane to enable supersonic flight also

but they had the foresight to spend and develop whilst we stood around worrying about spelling and tea !!

i know i was trained on them with L.A.D R.A.attatched to R.E.M.E. but unfortunately enemies have an habit of firing back and if you only have one missile against 3 tanks and two aircraft there’s only ever going to be one outcome no matter how well trained we shout out we are !!

in reality if anyone realy did want to invade ( doubtful ) it would be an extremely short affair without the us

we may as well try fighting a tank with a spud gun !!

our only hope would be to hold them off till america arrived …..late again !!

most if not all of these usualy turn up in areas where there is often dereliction or dire depressing wall space

for example we do have a few turn up in inapropriate areas but to be fair they are usualy not the artistic sort and are realy more gang tags

most of these http://www.google.co.uk/search?tbm=isch&hl=en&source=hp&biw=1600&bih=705&q=beldam+asbestos+graffiti&gbv=2&oq=beldam+asbestos+graffiti&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&gs_sm=s&gs_upl=1733l14245l0l17154l24l24l0l15l0l0l168l1280l0.9l9l0 are in a part demolished factory a couple of miles away from me ( strangely they seem to be very well done tags ) but very few if any have been done on the streets

realy don’t get why the assumption is they are all stolen either !! as most do it for an art form and do pay or ask for donated

i remember in 1986 when the metrolink in manchester was still in B.R’s hands B.R. were having problems with thier carriages being graffitied the upshot was B.R. ended up paying two graffiti artists to paint works at key stations , the art was great and brightened up otherwise drab depressing station areas

the result was graffiti seemed to die off on the carriages , there was a huge positive response from the public that passed through the usualy drab areas and because it was new at the time it seemed to get left alone

and we also learn a little of culture from them as it is nothing new , stone age cave paintings , pompei murals , ww2 chads etc etc !!

look through these 3 pages http://www.flickr.com/photos/10295270@N05/favorites/?view=lgand an obvious theme will stand out

1 they mostly occur in what can be described as derelict parts of town were people and councils etc are reluctant to spend money

and 2 they are far better than the unkempt alternative if someone can seriously not see the art in the well done ones of these you also had the oppertunity to buy 5 litres of magnolia masonary paint and go out to make a difrence in the community , the difrence is that you probably just looked and thaught that’s a dire sight it could do with painting !!
