Guns for sport and for food as well as use as a deterent and the thousands used for shooting at clay pigeons and inanimate targets should be set against those used for the purpose of killing human beings.

but that’s the thing !! all guns will kill irrelavent to what thier normal use is

even low powered firearms will kill depending on distance and where shot

and that’s the whole point a gun isn’t just there for fun it is there for hunting accidents , kids playing with dads gun , the night you feel so low you can’t see any way out , the night you’re in a rage because the milkmans humped your wife for the third time ,etc , etc ,

sorry but you just cannot sepperate them conveniently

what is worth mentioning that if you own an air rifle in the uk it has to be restricted to 12ftlb a pistol to 6ftlb anything above that power output is then classed as a class 1 firearm and as such can earn you a nice stretch inside if not registered !!

but on the serious side !! the country turned to c**p the day the lottery started

i feel that is the dividing line since then everyone has to some degree believed they should have a millionaires life style or be famous

we have mad people believe fabulous wealth is at your fingertips

when in reality the odds are you are going to have to work effin hard and probably for the rest of your life in a job that you either can’t stand or even if you do like it some days you’ll think ” what the f am i doing here “

we have conditioned a society to being used to thinking millionaire status is but a breath away without having to do anything to achieve it

the amount of young that say ” i want to be a millionaire ” yet as soon as you ask ” what are you going to do to achieve your goal ???” the answer is ” not a clue “

    one little thaught

myself and just about most of the uk population don’t feel the need to own a gun and pretty much can rest assured that in most of our life we will never come accross the dreadful things in either the home or out on the street

most gun crime is gang or drug related so if not involved you are pretty safe from it

so if the U.S. is as you say a safer place for having the gun

how come a huge percentage feel the need to have one ????

although i am sure it is a superb thing that should stay

i don’t believe that lot for one second !!

it depends where you do the research !! if it is done in a nice area then it is bound to be better

but go and do the research in somewhere like gary indiana where gangs with guns are rife and police are dealing with shootings several times per day

sorry but those figgures just don’t add up against even our capital with probably a few a week on the scale of gary indiana

Gary was rated the 17th most dangerous city in the United States according to Morgan Quitno’s 2007 analysis of crime rates (City Crime Rankings, 14th Edition), down from 10th highest in the 2006 edition. The city recorded 51 homicides in 2006, a 13.5 percent decrease from the previous year

compare that to manchester in the uk you would probably be pressed to get half of that figure in a bad year ( if all types of homicide are included )

the striking thing is gary indiana is practicaly a ghost town whith i think a population of around 80’000 manchesters population is around 500’000
with to put it bluntly the same problems as gary being black youth gangs with drugs and guns

sorry but you can do research in difrent places to make it look better but on the whole i think you’re deluding yourself thinking the us is safer because of guns

well aware linc !! worked alongside them once as we spotted someone with a firearm whilst out patroling

we were keeping survielance after spotting them from the towns main cctv room

very nearly pounced on the wrong guy with 4 armed officers

the problem is he was being followed on cctv fine if you have sparkling clear well lit pictures and no blind areas

but by the time he was on a camera that was good quality and in good light it was realised they had picked the wrong guy

so were stood down 2 seconds from pouncing

as said we are still far from arming all police , i dare say some cars may be unmarked

but a few have TAU on them !!
