none of these latest actions have any link to previous riots or demos of the ’80s (or any previous time), they (Toxteth, Brixton, Moss Side etc, etc) .

WRONG AGAIN high youth unemployment , tory government , bad policing , etc etc

there may be more modern methods !! or are there ?? two way radios were used in the 80’s for keeping dog !!

wichever way you look at it the underlying causes are just the same

the public will only take so much s**t

there is an ever growing section that this winter will have to choose between eating or heating with no prospects of getting out of that situation

yes there is a large percentage of thugs

but i can also understand why

The members of the force that have faced these thugs have more balls than I have, and I suspect you.

    .

wrong i have faced it , and a good deal sooner than these nancys my brother also faced it on 2 tours of N.I.

“i understand the family went to discus the mans death with them and wanted to talk to someone in charge but the police did not even bother to acknowledge them and that was where it started from “

And of course all those who’ve stolen mobile phones needed them to keep in contact re Mark Duggan, those who stole plasma tv’s only want them to keep up to date with news reports on the Duggan case and those who’ve stolen clothing and footwear have only done that so that they look presentable at his funeral?

Birmingham looks bad enough tonight but nothing like the situation in Croydon.

    Regards,

    kev35

as i said earlier kev this incident was merely the final straw

i don’t agree with the methods but can fully understand why it’s happening living through the early 80s with a brother in law involved in the moss side riots

same causes led up to them riots as these and i can only see it worsening

with even the forces making redundencies where do the young unemployed go to make a better life

especialy as prison is usualy better than somes home life , at least they get fed watered and are kept warm hell if thier lucky enough they’ll even get a better games console

has anybody thaught to make cuts to prisoners rights to improve pensioners living ??

Really, I am short of words here. Why is there no reaction by the Met? Why are vehicles and property letting be destroyed? I have never seen such a no-reaction to a riot such as this.

The scenes from Hackney…there are like 20 people causing all the trouble.

can’t !! health and safety !! the nancy boys might get a splinter or break a nail !

the biggest trouble is exactly what the police are not comprehending

it would seem the soft money making targets ( motorists ) are plagued and harrased
even photographers in public places get a harder time than crimminals

yet at the same time they avoid problem estates avoid turning up at burgalries for up to 2 days ( not atall if they can fob you off with a crime number for the insurance )

there are an ever growing group that despise the police and who can blame them

i understand the family went to discus the mans death with them and wanted to talk to someone in charge but the police did not even bother to acknowledge them and that was where it started from

lets not forget the police have not got a good innocent civillian / firearms reccord 1970s innocent civillian shot in his mini , a brazilian on the subway , a mental patient with a toy gun and now posibly this !!

From what I have heard, the bullet that hit the Police Officers radio, was from ANOTHER police officers weapon. It may well be the man who was shot dead, wasn’t even armed, as Arthur has stated, we will see.

    Jim.

    Lincoln .7

i live in a part of the country where police firearms training was so bad that they shot dead one of thier own during a training excercise on an establishment near the city centre

i’m still very dubious about police being allowed to play with dangerous toys

i fully believe training is nowhere near millitary standards

I felt a wry smile when I heard the protests are to get ‘justice’ for a gun-carrying youngster (and his family)

‘Justice’ was in this case delivered swiftly and effectively.

    Moggy

any riot is started from one excuse or another !!

it will just be the final straw !

not many mention the years of problems leading up to it it is well known some estates in london are no go areas for police etc

it should never have got that way , if the police are that yellow and innefective send in the millitary !

you cannot have no go areas for police i find it absurd that a block of flats can become a no go area for authorities
