Broken Britain.. You went soft on discipline!.. You went soft on immigration! Parents were told.. ‘No you can’t smack the kids’….Teachers were prevented from chastising kids in schools.. The police couldn’t clip a troublemaker round the ear.. Kids had rights blah blah blah.. Well done Britain..You shall reap what you sowed.. We have lost a whole generation!!

Just seen on T.V. a very worried female, who had her home broken into whilst she was asleep in bed, by two men dressed all in black clothing.
It’s now gone a Bridge too far, and time to call in the Army, at least they command respect when seen with a weapon slung over their shoulder.against a Police Officer that these rioters know is not armed.

No-one can deny that the rioters are solely to blame for this and no-one is denying that. However, the Prime Minister, the Home Secretary and the Police are the people that are there to prevent events such as this and if they do oocur to deal with them. They are there to protect life and property and it is clear there is a massive failure in this regard. I accept that the Police are doing their best but the escalation of violence over the last three days cannot be allowed to continue. It has to be stopped and stopped now. Right now I, and I suspect many others, don’t care how it is stopped. Just get it done and sort out the consequences later. Be it a curfew or even martial law just get the situation stabilised.

that is where they screwed up massively !! they should have sorted the first ringleaders out ( even though underhanded ) to stop the innevitable escalation

the polices huge screw up was standing back they sent the clear message “we are weak !!”

I have had the same conversation with more than one serviceman from WW2 who have said strongly the same thing. Not even intimated, but strongly said on more than a few occasions.

Regardless whether you personally find this unpalatable.

however, there seems to be a subtle difference between yourselves and the Police, were you not armed with a rifle and live ammo to protect yourselves?.

wrong jim !! although i’m ex millitary at the time i faced it i was working as a street warden the main difrence was it was stamped down on early by face to face methods and make no mistake it would have escalated if not sorted at that point

and to make matters worse there was still no police presence even though we were linked into police radio , there were fires burning , and youths on the verge of gang war

they were probably at the station enjoying tiffin at the tax payers expese !!

none of these latest actions have any link to previous riots or demos of the ’80s (or any previous time), they (Toxteth, Brixton, Moss Side etc, etc) .

WRONG AGAIN high youth unemployment , tory government , bad policing , etc etc

there may be more modern methods !! or are there ?? two way radios were used in the 80’s for keeping dog !!

wichever way you look at it the underlying causes are just the same
