in response to the motorcycle ( for instance ) there has always been a charge for treating RTA’S often goes through insurance

although beurocracy made it difficult to be paid

there is a new bill going through that is going to change that

to make it easier to charge !!

I’m still interested in this “line” where injury is self-inflicted. If a motorcyclist rides recklessly is he denied treament or dropped down the priority because it is self-inflicted? Or would he have to pay even though he may have paid his taxes all his life.
If a 50 year old goes on a booze bender and ends up in hospital would he have to pay as well, despite having already paid for his treatment many times over?
Much of what we do could be regarded as “self-inflicted” if you think that you have any control over your life.

the thing is in practicaly every other country in the world you have to have medical insurance
because there is no NHS and if insurers realise it was through drinks / drugs or irresponsible actions they can refuse to pay out

why should it be any difrent here ??

i attend hospitals regularly through work and observe cancer patients at the door with missing limbs , coughing lungs up etc , etc , yet they are still lighting up

why should others pay for these actions

i have every sympathy for those that give up and they should get free treatment but those that carry on ” well !!”

If “legal” drivers obeyed the damned speed limits of which they are fully aware then perhaps it would free up officers to catch other criminals.

    .

wich officers would they be ??? the static cameras or the one man in a van

the realistic truth is the soft targets are a cash cow !!

there was a woman and her 2 yr old shot dead yesterday with neighbours playing hell with the police because they were warned and did nothing

still never mind he may have dragged 60 quid in off a fully legal motorist doing 37 in a 30 !!

    yes they should !!

when young i drunk copious ammounts and i confess yes smoked whacky backy regular ( probably lost more in my fingernails than todays young smoke )

but i never once for one seccond inconvenienced others through it

the problem is todays irresponsible culture charge them 4 x’s the fee give bigger fines for drink related instances and watch it go down

but more important have an effective police force and legal system to enforce it

they collect speeding fines quick enough off fully legal drivers

lets see them get off their a*ses and actualy start dealing with crime

there were a couple of officers doing an health and safety assesment the other week before tackling someone

sorry but if you don’t like risk and don’t want to get in and sort things out maybe they should be accountants

    Benidorm
    – The Inbetweeners
    – Peep Show
    – Teachers
    – Qi
    – The IT Crowd
    – Black Books

What have I missed?!! :rolleyes:Never seen the first four, although I enjoy Mitchell and Webb, so not sure why I have missed Peep Show, QI is panel game which flaunts Stephen Fry’s ego and I’ve never seen the last two. So I would say Dad’s Army is sitting well in amongst new comedy.;)

But to be serious I doubt that much comedy writing is as good as it was say 20 years ago plus.

you didn’t see bennidorm ?? utterley hillarious melvyn hayes turning up as mr pink the gangster in the last series was hillarious !!

what i’ve seen of the inbeteeners ( very little ) but seemed very good any one whoose been an active teenage lad will associate with it

peep show i can’t get into ( hang on that just sounds wrong !! )

teachers uncanningly accurate ( i worked as a caretaker at one point )

QI good but realy a quiz show that has funny parts

it crowd cant get into it ( even though it has doc martens fit receptionist )

black books is fantastic and hillarious but bill baily is an aquired taste comedian you either get him or you don’t living a bit of a hippy life helps
