These should be on the cheap side to operate.

    A-4 / TA-4 SkyHawk

    A-37 / T-37 DragonFly

    OV-10 Bronco (Not a jet)

The jets I would like to own

    A-10 Thunderbolt

    J-35 Draken

    AJ-37 / JA-37 Viggen

“….but the US system never went operational.”

The anti-missile missiles located in Nekoma, ND were operational for at least a year but were only officaly operational for 24 hours. It is a really cool site to drive by on Highway 1. In the 1980s Highway 1 was littered with missile silos every mile or two but now only the square chain link fences remain with an old weathered sign that reads “USAF Property, Deadly Force May Be Used.”

How and why are they getting them through Syria?? Russia had no problem selling Tor-M1 air defense systems directly to Iran so I am sure Russia would have no problem selling the Pantsyr sytem directly to Iran.

    Finlandia

    Yeas, but with whose money

My money and my friend’s money. It should be easy to do with how much Finlandia Vodka we drink over here. Just don’t stop exporting Finlandia to Minnesota and your country should be fine. 😉

Griben instead of Hornets…and full Multipurpose kit from the beging, including Anti-ship capacity with RBS-15…

    Gollevainen,
Thats all you would do for Finland’s forces? I would do a lot more!

    How about:

    Purchase EMB-314 trainers

    Purchase EMB-145 EriEye AEW&C aircraft

    Purchase Mi-28N attack helicopters

Purchase S-300PMU2 SAM systems to complement the BUK-M1-2 in service.

Replace all artillery and coastal artillery 100mm, 122mm, 130mm, & 152mm howitzers with the new 52cal 155mm howitzer

    Purchase 3 Gotland Class Submarines

Purchase 3 Visby Class Corvettes to replace the Turunmaa Class Corvettes.

Purchase 6 Hamina Class Attack Craft instead of 3 planned.

Purchase 6 Tuuli Class Attack Craft

Upgrade the minelayers with Umkhonto-IR SAM systems

Any idea what the rifle is on the left side with the box magazine? A high caliber anti-material rifle maybe?

    North Korea

I hope this project turns out as great as your Iranian naval project. I am really interested in a 3-d view of the Soho Class Frigate and the Chaho Class Assault Craft with her 122mm rocket launcher.

They should have bought Bangledesh’s 8 Mig-29s since they are trying to get rid of their fleet!

If you are done with Iran may I suggest you start on North Korea. They have many more unknown types that people would like more info on.

Its amazing that the Greek navy chose the expensive RAM launcher on such a small attack craft. Most navies refuse to place the expensive RAM launcher on their capital ships. This was a great choice by the Greeks and money spent wisely IMHO.

    who cares

I don’t know what the big deal is with this contract since it is only for 24 birds. It is not like they are buying 150 aircraft and will serve as the only fighter for the next 50 years. These 24 aircraft bring new technology and new air frames into service and will help the pilots transition to higher tech fighters in the future then these birds will be turned into tankers / secondary strike aircraft once the F-35 joins the air force.

I always thought Boeing should have pitched the F-32 to Japan after they lost out to the Lockheed built F-35. This would have been a perfect aircraft for Japan’s future requirement.

    Question

How is the Neustrashimy class viewed by the Russian Navy and the rest of the world? Three were being built but only one was completed and the other two were scrapped. Is there a ship that Russia is currently building that is superior to the Neustrashimy? One last question. Why doesn’t Russia use the Klinok system on more of her ships?

    Thanks for any help
