could you see the Kent spitfire at all James

Just. It was in H2 northside with its engine covers off but parked down by the main hangar doors which is a bit difficult to see from the centre of the hangar.

    Hey everyone,
Yesturday and today my dad bought me some new equipment for my camera (Nikon D40), one of those is an extender lens (?) for my 200 lens for my nikon. Well … when i’ve tried to take photos they’re either blurry or have a black circle around the outside … any help?

    You say ‘extender lens’.

Is it an extender lens or a teleconverter?

Extender lens/tubes are used for macro or close up photography.

    Nice shots, Brian.
Did you use a tripod and long exposure or did you ratchet up the ISO?
Is the red sky in the first shot natural?
    Great pix!

Tripod, Yes with remote shutter release. Used AV or Aperture Priority to control shutter speed and ISO set at 100 apart from the Met helicopter and Hawk pilots, which was on Auto as there was movement and needed a quick shutter speed.

The Sky in the first three have been ‘enhanced’ a bit in Elements but the rest are as is.

Now that the new Sony Alpha 230/380’s are in the shops, I’ve noticed that the price of the A200 & A350 that they replaced are starting to drop.

There is not that much difference between the 350 & 380 if any, so I’m happy sticking with my 350.

I thought Duxford was a museum first and an air show venue second so why do you need permanent facilities just to cater for 4 air shows and the odd special event a year?.

As has already been stated, there are already permanent facilities for catering and toilets, and there are more permanent toilets and catering facilities at Duxford than probably any other UK air show venue you care to mention.

Why is the Tank Bank taking a bashing?. If you donโ€™t like what’s happening there, MOVE. There are plenty other vantage points around Duxford to be taken advantage of during an air show.

As for grandstands along the crowd line?. The only place to put them is on the grassed area from Hanger 5 west to the Tank Bank. There is no where from Hanger 5 east to the M11 as they would impede free movement of people, traffic and aeroplanes.

The only improvement Iโ€™d make would be to enforce a no tent/wind break rule and the removal of chairs/tables etc. fixed to the crowd line barrier. Then again how would you enforce it as Joe Public can get quite territorial when his little piece of space is under threat, even if it does belong to the IWM, which means some poor security guy hired for the day is going to take the brunt of it

    Trolling:rolleyes:

Can’t even get his basic facts right. Entrance fee, according to the web site, is ยฃ6.25 or ยฃ6.90 with Gift Aid.

As for scrounging paint off the MoD and using Air Cadets, obviously living in his own little conservation/restoration world. ๐Ÿ˜€

    Trolling definately.

Seen over Kent today in company with a ‘civil’ aircraft was the 190 replica flying with its gear down. Problems?

There was a ‘Civil Aircraft’ at Legends that was used for air to air photos over the weekend. Could have been more of that.

    Hello forum members,

Forgive me for being a little confused (its my age) but is this particular Fw 190 participating in the airshow or am I just going mad?
I am still missing the sound of Black 6, which was indeed an airshow puller!

    Kind regards to all.

    Melvin

    Aircrew Remembrance Society

It is taking part in Flying Legends, subject to the usual disclaimers like engineering problems etc, and I believe parked up on display line next to the ARCo FW190 and ‘Buchon’.:D

No one has come up with a list for Legends as TFC has not released one yet.

I’d rather a list is released a couple of days before the show of what will actually be there rather than a list issued weeks in advance with aircraft being crossed off it due to this, that and the other.

I do believe that the Vulcan has gone u/s so any one going to Biggin today to see it will be a tad disappointed.
