Pete
The Madingley ceremony is on the Bank Holiday Monday and this morning we had the KC-135 (see below) and 3x F-15s flying circles around St Ives, Cambs, waiting for the fly past but from other Forums there is no mention of the B-25. Mind you it was chucking it down with rain at the time when the jets were flying around.

obviously bravely heading for DX
Why heading for Duxford Pete?. If it’s the Duke of Brabants, surely it would head back home to the continent. I haven’t heard of ‘Grumpy’ arriving back at DX yet.
Any way I’m off to Duxford tomorrow so I’ll have a look see.:D
Brian
Edit: I’ll answer for you Pete: B-25 taking part in Maddingley ceremony so heading for DX.
Brian
IWM Reserve Collection = Duxford?
Brian
‘Sally B’ wont be flying as its new engine has gone U/S

Seems strange to see an aircraft so modern in museums. Am I getting old? 😮
Don’t forget there is a Typhoon (as in jet) on display in the RAFM Hendon:eek: 😮 😀
Brian
Elvington have had 2 for quite a while now (20 Aug 2005)

They have 1 soon to be 2 at Hendon

Brian
Now back home at Duxford.
Was landing just as I was leaving so no piccies.
Brian
Ah but did you visit the SRA Shed? or Area 52a (its next door to Area 51 😀 )
TT
???
Mention ‘Area 51’ is this country and Duxford comes to mind.

As for a/c id like to see, i would like theemed airshows i.e an early jets aishow yes we can have mustangs, spits etc but a gatherting of sea hawks, hunters, canberras etc
Wouldn’t be a very long air show then considering how many Sea Hawks, Hunters and Canberra’s are flying in this country at the moment.:D

I noticed this when i went last year, walking from the tube station was so dangerous, some parts of the way there didn’t even seem to be any pavement, or you at least had to keep crossing backwards and forwards. Its not a short walk either, and thats from someone that walks a lot. Being such a major museum, you would think public transport links would be better
7 minutes is not a short walk? Thats how long it takes me from Colindale, or did you get off at Hendon:D
Pavement all the way. Turn left out of the station down to the roundabout, cross the road and just keep walking. Footpath all the way.
Brian
Sorry i can’t help- but is it my imagination or has this project only taken abiout 6 months???
April 2006 it arrived.
Brian
Based on THIS ? 😀

Glad you got some last shots of JG Brian, you’ll need your passport for the next time she goes flying 😉
It actually made “another” final flight in the afternoon in the hands of John Romain. It was Cliff Spink flying her in the morning.
Cheers Roobarb, I had heard it would be leaving soon but not when so very fortunate to catch it for the last time. I got a ‘nod’ off Mr Spink as he went by. 😀

Hi bri
The original entrance into the museum from Brooklands Road is still open 😀 when you walk from the station look out for the museum sign on the right-hand side of the road – don’t worry, you can’t miss it !
Not sure about the price reduction though …
Don’t forget to check http://www.brooklands100.org for events happening at the museum.
Regards
Richard
That’s handy to know as I am planing another visit. As I shall be coming down by train I can’t make the Easter Monday but will be there on the Thursday before.
