This was me at Legends this year.
Brian, aka “Pen Pusher” has a really good one of the same engine at Legends in 2006 on his web site. Also found this one on YouTube:

Apart from the usual Duxford regulars, I believe the Belgian F-16 is back again.
Brian
Battle of Britain day and no one showing the Battle of Britain film. 😡

Seems that now IWM have finished Airspace (well, virtually anyway) they are concentrating on bringing other items out of store or rejigging, now if they can only get the theming sorted (ie Phantom not next to Typhoon, next to Brisfit etc) then it’ll be back to business as usual.

They are staring to theme. Where TFC used to park their flying aeroplanes in 3 Hanger, all now in north side of Hanger 2, is now a Navy line up with the Sea Hawk parked next to the boat.
In the Restoration hanger, as was, is the ‘Storch’, JU-52 and a few assorted other German WWII items.

Some very nice images there, Mr. PP, although your comment about gratuitous topside shots had me leering (for all the politically incorrect reasons) for about a nano-second. As you were positioned near the control tower you obviously wasn’t the guy near the Air Atlantique Dragon Rapide who was sporting the most enormous piece of equipment I have seen in 40 years of SLR photography. Damn thing was so big he had to use a swivelling mount to rest it on. It brought on a severe case of lens envy, and I shudder to think what it cost.
Thank you for your comments 91Regal and I saw him as well and I thought it was a telescope at first judging by that bracket that held the lens.
I wonder if he had planning permission to set it up:D

p.s.
Anyone notice the Hurricane FSM in the restoration shop- think the caption said ex BoB film but I dont remember seeing it before –
Lindy’s Lad – potential deal there?

Can anyone give me the low-down on the He111 that is/was at Duxford?
Haven’t heard about it for a while – Is it still there? Restoration plans? Where’s it destined to end up?Thanks in advance.
Rich.

Hello Brian
The furthest most wings appear disproportionatly larger on some shots, or is it my eyes?
Cheers
John
Morning John…..
….and no, it’s not your eyes. Nearly all the photos I have of any aeroplane taken at those sort of top side angles seems as though the wing furthest away is larger than the one that is nearer.
The only theory I can come up with, and probably talking utter waffle but it works for me, is that with the nearer wing you are looking along the length of the top side, and because the angle of the wings attached to the fuselage and the angle of the airframe in the photo, the outer wing is more of a plan view, and you can see more of it, hence the optical illusion. If that makes sense?.

And last Friday the Victor is still exactly where it was photographed above and the north side of the TFC hanger is open again.
A few piccies from that visit HERE
Brian
BTW Is that Charlie Brown (Hurricane and Spit’ pilot) in the front of N-6720.
Smashing aircraft to fly in.
It’s a mike under the pilots nose:D
