Brian
It was JG891 and the Buchon up from Dx.
Duxman
Thanks Duxman, I thought it was JG891 but wasn’t sure. Following its run and break the 109 spent the afternoon on the ground at RAF Wyton.
Taken with my Z1 3mp camera at full zoom and piccies cropped so not top quality

If the weather is OK, I ride a motorbike, I will be at Duxford.
Brian
If theyโre still over here, and it can be arranged, it would be nice to see them return for next years summer do.
Dean,
At Duxford on the 21st Oct 06

If someone spots her at DX this weekend you’ll probably see root fairings and cowls etc off, so I was informed, so don’t expect any engine runs soon.

From 21 Oct when I was down there. Red Merlin ๐ฎ ๐ฎ ๐ฎ

Ever wondered why there are rules against flying over the crowd at airshows?
Ever wondered what would have happened, for example, if the T-33 that failed to get airborne from Duxford not long before this film was taken had been taking off directly towards a bank full of punters?
Jet aircraft take off on the main runway so this scenario would never crop up.

If you had logged onto the RAF Museum website, it says in the Opening Times and Admission Charges page:-
Personal photography and filming is permitted. Visitors with tripods should ask for a pass at the admissions desk in Milestones of Flight. Those with commercial requirements should visit the Commercial Photography section for details.
I would have thought that having the lights on ‘dim’ in the BoB hall would be more of a Health & Safety hazard than tripods.

My next visit to Cosford was in 1990 and my photos show it in its current RAF scheme. Narrows the search area down a bit.

Really? Fouga was on the ground at Duxford…
….and here it is.
The codes of a certain Spitfire might be a clue as to who the new owner of both of these is!
Subtle hint No 43 ๐ ๐

I have slapped my wrists. Hangar it is. ๐
Brian
Could this have been the arrival of the new owner of the Buchon and Hurricane?
I thought he had a Dasault Falcon not a Gulfstream/Global Express. Anyway I’m off to Duxford this morning, so let’s hope it was he and he has come to have a go with his new toys ๐ .

What role would WP903 have served in her bright red paint scheme?
I can’t recall ever seeing an RAF training aircraft wearing that colour in any photo I’ve ever seen only the (world) famous Red Arrows.
She wasn’t trying to sneak onto RAF Cranwell was she?
It was the training aircraft for Prince Charles in 1968ish when he learnt to fly with the RAF. High viz with a strobe light so it could be seen.
