Am I the only one that doesn’t have any issues with the RAFM being at Hendon?
I have no issues with the RAFM at Hendon or at Cosford. It does need a bit of a revamp and they should get rid of that plastic F-35 and the Merlin EH101 Helliliner as it has no relevance to the RAFM.

we should of put an airfield aside with hangars full of museum aircraft and associated exhibits a live runway restorded flyable aircraft able to use a runway plenty of airshows

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland
Didn’t spend as long at Hyde Park as I had intended as it started raining after about an hour and the rain app indicated that it was set for the evening. A larger attraction and a lot more there than I thought there would be. Free to get in but a bit of queuing due to bag searches. I’ll be going back between Christmas and New Year with my wide, w i d e angle lens for a night shoot. In the order they were taken.

St Katherine Docks/Seven Dials
St Katherine Dock’s
Nothing spectacular but St Katherine Dock’s claim to have the only floating Christmas tree in London with it floating on a pontoon in the western basin.

Seven Dials, Covent Garden.
Seven Dials is a small road junction in Covent Garden where seven streets converge. The column at the center of the convergence only has six sundials at the top of it as it was commissioned and built before they added a seventh street. Their Christmas theme this year is forest animals and apart from the obvious ones in the decorations across the various streets, there are also supposed outlines of forest animals in lights in the tree branches around the centre. I didn’t make any out though.

Very, very quiet day at Duxford so some record shots in hangar 3 with Frankie back from winter servicing and the ARCo fleet having had a bit shuffle around around since my last visit. In the order they were taken.

Nothing seems to link the museum itself to any settlements nearby, except for a shuttle bus from Cambridge on airshow days.
Or the daily Whippet 7A Babraham Road Park & Ride which stops at Whittlesford and Heathfield, which is the stop near the garage opposite the American Air Museum.
Brian
Whittlesford to Duxford takes me 25 minutes and at no time do you have to go ‘ambling along the side of a motorway’ besides ‘ambling along the side of a motorway’ is against the law.

Saturday, 03Dec16
The peace and tranquility of a quiet Saturday Bimble around Duxford was shattered when a Sikorsky HH-60G Pave Hawk/(89)26205 from RAF Lakenheath started doing circuits just after the museum opened with about 4 landings on the grass runway. It parked up on the jet pan and with the pilot on board and rotors running, the crew went off to the cafe for a coffee. Friendly crew as well, waving to the kids on the fence line when they arrived and handing out badges to them when they left. Just before lunch Piper PA-18-150 Super Cub/D-ESTS and Piper L-18C-95 Super Cub/OO-SPG flew in from the continent via Calais and stayed til mid afternoon. In the order they were taken

Yup, nice photos in that link and how many times do you need to be spoon fed the correct link that has already been posted in this thread.

Just had a very, very grey/gray Blackhawk from Lakenheath doing circuits and then parked on the jet pan while the crew had a coffee/comfort break. The silver German registeted cub has brightened things up a bit.

The usual suspects can only see the aircraft like every one else. From the viewing gallery.
Want up to date photos and progress reports, then keep checking the excellent ARCo Facebook page.
