Tekki bit 😀
I was using the new(ish) Sony A7rII which has a 42.4mp back-illuminated sensor, which increases the amount of light the sensor can capture improving low-light performance and with a recent firmware update for uncompressed RAW image capture changing the file size from 41Mb for compressed to 81Mb for uncompressed RAW. The larger file size along with back-illuminated sensor means more detail can be recorded and extracted from darker shadows.

From the RAFM Web Site
Since 1st April 2010, a small car parking charge has been payable by visitors to the Royal Air Force Museum’s London site. The income generated will be used to assist in meeting the costs of maintaining the Museum’s national collection and of operating its sites.

Surprised to see this morning the Biggin Hill two seat Spitfire/MJ627 sitting on the grass next to the control tower all ready to go but not going any where because of the mist covering the area. It cleared enough early afternoon for flying to start. In hangar 2, winter maintenance continues on the multi-engined war birds with the Catalina down to one engine. In hangar 3, the broken French Sea Fury now has a museum information board, just like the ‘permanent’ residents. The Quilt Show was in full swing in AirSpace but again couldn’t see any aviation related quilts.

Lee Kingman, whose father Steve is the engineer on the Grace Spitfire, has been having flying lessons in the Duxford based Cub under the tutelage of Pete Kynsey. Today, after a couple of circuits, PK climbed out of the Cub and Lee went solo. Congratulations to Lee and possible future war bird pilot????

Thanks to Steve for permission to post.
