Its easier and cheaper to fly in examples of teh larger types when they retire than dismantle and truck them in
So maintaining a large airfield and its infrastructure will be cheaper than trucking in a large airframe once in a blue moon.

When the RAF move out there will be 3 hangars going spare and plenty space to build something new, it’s close to a motorway and it has it’s own rail station. Does Scampton have either of those?.
Why does the RAFM need a runway anyway, they don’t operate flying aircraft.

Move Hendon to Cosford when the RAF move out. All under one roof then.

Sally-B is supposed to be doing an air-to-air shoot with a Skyvan today.

Google translated it. Sort of.
GENK – A pilot and his four fellow passengers were released on Sunday evening with the scare after landing with an eighty-year Lockheed error. The group had just landed at the airport in Zwartberg, when a gust of wind blew the device towards hangar. The nose went through the gate and the damage is great, but everyone remained unharmed.

And is Flying Legends held during the school holidays?
Brian
Test flying during the week is a bit hit & miss. Weekends are usually better for flying like today when a 1967 Cessna O-2A Super Skymaster in USAF markings dropped in for a couple of hours.:D

Thursday 21st June
A very quiet day at Duxford apart from first thing when an Aerospatiale AS-555 Fennec/5431 of the Armee De L’Air flew in and parked up next to Sally-B and the crew went off for a wander around the museum, closely followed by an Agusta-Westland AW-139/AW141 of the Dubai Air Wing that flew in from Newmarket for a spot of fuel and then flew back to Newmarket. CCF T-6J Texan/G-TVIJ flew in and parked up at ARCo and the TFC Bearcat/G-RUMM was outside for an engine run.
