Paying respects to the almighty Griffon. 😀

Fw190 doesn’t belong to the IWMs, it belongs to the RAFM.

I don’t send photos in to any of the UK magazines. Any of mine that have been published in the past have been requested by the editors.
Aeroplane published one of my photos under a different name, and I never got paid. Flypast gave me hassle over payment. They wanted to do it electronically I wanted a cheque and I’m still waiting for payment from Classic-Aircraft, or what ever they call it now this month, for photos published earlier this year. Their loss not mine.
The only magazine I do supply photos for now is published on the other side of the world. 😀

Just a couple or three from me of the SNJ-5 first flight today.

Mmmm Quilts. :diablo:

Brian
Not quite. Monopod, and with thanks to Joe, perched on a ladder. 😀

just the one from today before the crowds descended. When I left around midday the que to get in stretched along the footpath towards AirSpace.

Bit like the couple a number of years ago who had bought a house in a village next to RAF Finningley as was. The house suffered from subsidence and the couple demanded compensation from the MOD as they blamed the Vulcan’s, noise from take off apparently, for the subsidence despite the fact that Vulcan’s hadn’t operated from Finningley for over 20 years and of course the subsidence had nothing to do with a coal pit seam running nearby. One of the many stories the CRO used to tell us.

There already is a Meteor, Javelin, Hunter along with a Phantom, MiG and Vampire in the Cold War section of hangar 3.

Those nice ARCo engineers were playing musical aeroplanes again, this time tucking up two Mk.1 Spitfires in Hangar 3 for the winter period. Both aircraft have their engines inhibited.

Brian
Wonder if any one caught the Spitfires outside hangar 3 this morning :diablo:

‘RUN’ 😮
I only do that now if I see a site minibus heading towards me. :diablo:

100th Duxford Bimble – 22Oct12
Not exactly the ideal weather for my 100th visit to Duxford this year.
With the Catalina safely tucked up in Hangar 2/North for winter maintenance, ‘Sally-B’ has had her wing tips clipped and will be joining it soon.
Part of the TFC hangar is closed off as they are having a bit of a clear out of their storage facilities North side, the museum need the space for items from London, and stacking them on shelves in their hangar and to give themselves space to move…………..
……..one of their fleet is camping out with OFMC.
As I was arriving this morning, those nice ARCo engineers were just closing the doors to H1/North. I thought I’d missed the aircraft shuffle for the day. While I was in H3, I heard Terence pull up outside and those nice ARCo engineers began opening the hangar doors. It would have been remiss of me not to take advantage of the situation.

Hawker Nimrod II first flight, Sep. 1934 ~ Hawker Hurricane first flight, Nov. 1935
On Monday/Tuesday, there is a car and motorbike auction taking place in AirSpace.
It wasn’t open to the public yet but I spied an Indian motorbike through the plate glass ground floor window. I’m after something larger than my little 125cc put-put and and was quite taken with the Indian until I was told by the gentlemen on the FoD desk, they were thumbing through a sale catalogue, the Indian had a list price of £45,000 to £50,000.

…many are already nicely on view in Hangar 5.
Must be taking in exhibits from the Tate Gallery as well judging by the sandbag installation that’s in there now.:diablo:
