If you can hang on a little bit longer, Sony are bringing out a new super-zoom DT55-300mm F4.5-5.6 SAM telephoto zoom lens with an rrp of £299.99. The bonus of this lens is the lower end starts at 55mm as opposed to 70mm with other lens.

With the ARCo hangar shuffle this morning, there were only two Spitfires on display this time.

Brian
Just the one from today that caught my eye. 😀

Brian
My take on the ‘Spitfires on Parade’. 😀

Apart from TFC coming out to play, it was a windy, cold, dark and eventually slightly wet day at Duxford. TFC were out for engine runs, there was an Apache helicopter doing what looked like a practice display routine up and down the grass runway and the MkXIX Spitfire was tucked up in Hangar 2/North.

Spot the Apache 😀

Brian
My take on the Mk.XIX first flight at lunchtime. 😀

Brian
Just a couple or three from today from me.

Brian
would be interesting to see the shots of the Spit air to air to see how good/bad they are shooting through the scrathed windows
These are the only ones I’ve seen posted any where so far Clicky Here

I guess we all have ideas of what we would like to see where after the re-shuffle. Personally I think the Viscount deserves to be under cover after the excellent restoration and the fact it’s the oldest surviving turboprop airliner, so perhaps it could go in Airspace to replace the Hastings (another excellent effort). It would then complete the trio of leading edge British transports i.e Concorde, Comet and Viscount. The Hastings could then replace the Varsity in Hangar 4 and maybe room could be found for the Ambassador in the “restoration” end of Airspace. We live in hope.
The Comet, Concorde, York and Hermes are not part of and do not belong to the IWM and IWM could quite easily have them moved out of AirSpace to make room for their own collection.

I’ll keep an eye out for it as I walk in from Whittlesford Station 😀
