I’m at Hendon now. The former BoB hall is open for preview this weekend prior to the official opening in June.

The Radial And Trainer Fly-in VI
Hello Everyone,First of all can I sincerely apologise for the lack of information on the forthcoming Radial And Trainer Fly-in. since the loss of Compton Abbas we have been searching high and low for another airfield but sadly with no success.
We have decided need to re-evaluate our Primary goal and strategy and have decided to take a step back in 2018 so with concrete regret we have decided not to go ahead in 2018.
Till then have a great airshow season and we will update you soon on the plans and location for 2019 event.

A bit of a training day at Duxford. Started with Harvard/TAZ doing circuits with the pilot then moving on to P-51D Mustang/Sharkmouth and then another pilot took the P-51D up later. TFC had their Hawk 75 and Harvard flying several times and their Nimrod was out for an engine run. There were two other Harvard’s flying with FE511 parking on the grass outside ARCo and the Classic Wings yellow RCAF marked Harvard up and down most of the day. In the order taken.

My take on war bird Saturday @ Duxford. Despite being a Bank Holiday weekend it was wall to wall blue sky and sunshine.

Thursday 3rd May
A quiet-ish morning at Duxford. A pair of Chipmunks flew several display routines over the airfield and a T.76 Firefly flew in from the south did a practice display and flew south again when finished. The Apache helicopter that broke and spent the night in AirSpace, was towed out onto the jet pan and what sounded like an APU fired up so that the Army Air Corps engineers could see what the problem was. I believe it’s now back in AirSpace and the Bremont Broussard/G-HOUR flew in and parked up at ARCo. in the order taken.

Tuesday 1st May
A bit of ‘Over the Fence’ photography to start the day as ARCo engineers were having a hangar shuffle before the museum opened and the hangar doors were closed by the time the museum did open. A team from RAF Marham were beavering away in hangar 4 putting the missing pieces onto the GR.4, and the Catalina was out of hangar 2, again, and was due to go flying but developed an engine problem. The MAGPAS Air Ambulance, based at RAF Wyton, dropped in for fuel and Harvard ‘TAZ’ was doing a spot of pilot training. In the order taken.

The little shed on the side of the Stephenson Hangar is still open.

A sunny, cloudy, blustery, quiet day at Duxford. TFC had a nice line up of bent wing fighters parked outside their hangar as they extracted the Hawk 75 for some engine runs out on the airfield. The only Duxford based aircraft to fly while I was there was the Harvard ‘Wacky Wabbit’.

There’s an airfield at Molesworth ? http://www.content-delivery.co.uk/aviation/airfields/Molesworth_Heli.html Where?
As for RAF Wyton , when I moved to work there in 1995, we were told then that the airfield was going to have houses built on it, so nothing new then.

If any one is thinking of visiting the RAF Museum @ Colindale at the end of the month –
Our London site will be closed from 30 April to 4 May so that we may finalise the fitting out of our three new exhibitions:
RAF Stories, The First 100 Years 1918–2018
RAF – First to the Future
The RAF in an Age of UncertaintyWe would like to apologise in advance to visitors intending to visit during this week, but it is necessary for us to close to ensure that we are ready for our summer 2018 opening, which we will be announcing imminently.

Many thanks to Cliff Spink in the Spit and Steve Jones in the Twochon for the tail chase/dogfight entertainment. In the order taken.

Saturday 21st April
A busy day at Duxford. As the wind was from the south east and they using runway 06, I spent most of the day on the Tank Bank taking advantage of the sunshine and trying to get some different angles.

Wednesday 18th April
A hot sunny day at Duxford and I topped up my tan that I started on Saturday. There was a big aircraft movement before the museum opened when Handley Page HPR.7 Herald/G-APWJ was moved from Airliner Row into AirSpace where it will spend the next few days being finished painted and having missing bits added. The FSM Spitfire, on the hangar base, has been marked up to represent QV-I/X4474 a Mk.1 Spitfire of 19 Squadron and then it will be on loan to the RAF as it goes around the country as one of the static exhibits on the ‘RAF100’ tour. Spitfire/PT462 was flying passengers again and Spitfire Mk FRXVIIIe/SM845 went up for a short air test and a spot of aerobatics afterwards. In the order taken.
