Brings back so many memories mate, I had a 3 night stay in the Reef View Hotel (google it, wonderful) on Hamilton Island back in 2002, we flew in on a Qantas 734 (before being replaced by J*) and then on to Cairns in a Qantas Dash 8.
Mate if you had time you should have gone round to the main pool, it has a bar in the middle, you could go over a bridge to get there or purchase your drink from the water, the view from our hotel room window was simply breathtaking.
Great trip report, keep them coming.
Thank you for the kind messages guys 🙂
Gawd is it that time of year again? 😀
Thanks chaps, and youngster? I guess all things are relative 😉
Nothing much planned for the day, gym this morning, then to visit the parents this avo, then to evening meal at the out-laws house followed by a bottle of wine tonight, this is what us “youngsters” do on their birthday 🙂
It was some years ago that I sat my PPL exams but all I will say is that if you get the PPL Confuser you will not regret it

Happy Birthday mate, have a great day
Happy Birthday mate, have a great day 🙂
Mate, not recommended, the dirty looks and cold shoulders you receive certainly overshadow the view of the 744 and the view of the completely gorgeous looking dispatch officer 😀

The accident at Guam was a clear case of this, and it’s amazing how it’s always a chain of events, it was a Non Precision approach in the way of a VOR/DME as opposed the NDB as the Glide Slope was inop on the ILS, but still had a GS signal which was erroneous, which they should have ignored instantly because if the GS is inop then any signal you get should be treated as erroneous. Then comes the VOR/DME approach, all the relevant info should have been in front of them to conduct this approach, why did they bust the step down fixes? fatigue? experience? stress? or all 3? shows how important these issues are, I can’t wait to do my MCC course in 10 days time, should be very enlightening.

We were in Sydney a few years ago and were boarding a British Airways 744 service back to London when my wife could not find her mobile phone, then she remembered she was charging it up before we left and remembers putting the charger into the suitcase but not the phone, but this was the only place it could have been, we informed the BA check-in staff who then told the flight dispatcher, she told the captain and he said under no circumstances is this flight departing with that phone in the hold, and as we were one of the first to check in our bags must have been the first on, it seemed like hrs went by when we were asked to go down and identify the bags, at least we got to stand under a 747 😀 but we never found the bags, we departed with the phone in the hold and switched on, suffice to say we made it back in one piece
Stunning shots Manc, superb

Click here for a decent Flight sim route finder.
Unfortunately it doesn’t recognize EHAM but nearly all other airports should be ok, once you select the ICAO codes of your airports and enter them, press “find route”, your route you want for the FMC will be displayed at the very bottom.
Hope this helps

You should have said earlier, not the day before the test, can you PM me who this training provider is? I assume it’s one of the 3 well known integrated FTOs

Nice shots as ever Lance
