Will it be called ‘Be Mi baby’ though ??? 😉 😀
HAHA most likely 😀
Had a text message early this morning confirming the deal, seems pretty good for Loganair (& Flybe)
I’ve often wondered what was going on when I see all those Q-400’s coming in and doing really dodgy landings. Now I know! :diablo:
I’ve no idea what you mean, it must be the Belfast Dashs you see there, there’s no dodgy landings from Exeter 😉
Sounds like you love the place Deano 🙂 Excuse my ignorance but what does the “N” in “NTOP” stand for?
Naa it’s ok really, it’s quite interesting going in & out actually.
N in NTOP stands for Normal in Normal Take Off Power, basically means no de-rating of the engines
Stop whinging, you get paid to go there!
Paul
I guess you’re right, they say once you have seen 1 runway you have seen them all, but not in LBA’s case :D, it’s only the runway condition that lets it down 🙂
What did you think of our little airport?
Paul
Horrible to fly into and out of, the runway condition is awful, it resembles some of the worst of the M25, we always go out of there NTOP powered and max take off flap setting to get off the damn surface. Oh and you wouldn’t want your brakes to fail whilst backtracking to the end of Rwy 32 😉
Apart from that, it’s ok 😀
Nice pics by the way Ian
How about the one of FlyBe acquiring BMi Baby?
Old news
This rumour has been flying (pardon the pun) around the crew room for months, so no surprises if it does happen.

Sunshine? it’s all lies, amazing what you can do with photoshop 🙂
Great shots Colin, nice to see G-JECO, she was the first Dash I flew for BEE during base training.

There’s still a few here who can help, but you have to be a bit more specific like, what job are you looking for? flightdeck? cabin crew? what part of the world are you from? if it is flightdeck then do you already hold a fATPL or better?

There aren’t that many wannabes here, I noticed you are putting the same posts on PPRuNe but there isn’t the same number of wannabes here.
As for myself, I did my PPL with Bristol Flying Centre back in 2001/2003.
Then I did my hour building, night rating, CPL, Multi, IR & Flight Instructor’s course with Aeros Flight Training.
ATPL examinations was with Bristol Ground School.
Took me about 9 months to do the ATPL exams.
As for the time with Aeros I started the night rating in the January 2006, and finished the Flight Instructor’s Course in June 07.
Flying was regular, maximum 2 students per instructor, weather was nearly always good (didn’t matter for the IR), instructors were top notch, I gained a first time pass in all my flight tests.
Planes were Piper Warriors & a Piper Arrow for the CPL, plus Piper Senecas for the Multi & IR. They were in tip top shape, we had our own engineering on site so they were always serviceable.
Now an F/O for Europe’s largest regional airline.
Good luck
Firstly to work in the UK on a JAR license you need the right to live & work here, without this it is a futile task.
As for it being easy to get a job, well, no it isn’t easy to get a job, infact once the training is done it is then just as difficult to get an interview let alone a job.
As for obtaining Cargo jobs with just a CPL I think you can forget it, you need a fATPL to be considered, the only things you can expect to do with just a CPL is PPL instructing (provided you do an instructor’s rating), a bit of banner towing and some glider towing, but then you normally find people offer their services for nothing. Again this makes it quite difficult to get into.
Good luck
Firstly where do you live? are you UK based? if so then the JAR fATPL is going to be your best bet, reasons? quite simply there are more options open to you.
If you are looking to do the FAA license then you are restricted mainly to the USA to do your flying, and to do it over there you need to right to live & work in the USA. If you held an FAA license over here then you are limited to N registered aircraft only (someone correct me if this is wrong). This basically means business jets.
With the JAR fATPL you can basically use it in “JAR” land, this opens up most of Europe for you.
The best one for you all depends on what you want to do with your life, where you want to reside etc etc.

Damn rab, no flybe’s? I was based in Edinburgh all week, got back tonight, it was -8 overnight 😀
