First off go to http://www.ais.org.uk and register, it is free
Then you need to find the AIP package, it is rather difficult to navigate around the ais website so I have provided you a link to it here http://www.ais.org.uk/aes/pubs/aip/html/aipad2.htm
Remember to reisgter with the top url first, then sign in, then click the bottom link, this gives you the Aerodromes specific, choose which aerodrome you want to look at then you can select the relevant chart from the list

No worries Adam
I have tested my PMDG 738, I flew the ILS into Heathrow Rwy 27L on full manual and didn’t have any issues, she actually behaved quite nicely however the yawing motion is quite bizarre, again this comes down to the flight dynamics. I found the 5° bank to the live engine helped appreciably.
The key to flying this is not to get low & slow, you are really limiting your options then, because you will be near or past Vmca and you will need alot of power causing a further asymmetric force.

Skype is a free download, and a mic will cost a few pounds at the most.
Are you saying you have a mic ordered?
Also the avsim forums are great, but you need to click on the “file library” which is in the top left corner, once there, ensure you type in what you are searching for (PMDG tutorial) and then choose FS2004 from the dropdown menu. You will then get the various downloads

No the yaw damper is there to prevent “dutch roll” which is a stability problem.
Adam, the problem with flight sim is it’s ability (or lack of) to “accurately” depict true flight dynamics, you should be able to maintain a desired flightpath even with 1 engine inop, the normal issues come as you slow down, basically as you approach Vmca (minimum control speed in the air) the forces needed on the rudder to keep straight increases greatly, if you go below Vmca you will run out of rudder authority. There is, or shouldn’t be any issues with slowing to Vmca in planes with hydraulically actuated control surfaces but as you can imagine in a light twin such as a Seneca you will not be able to hold the aircraft straight at Vmca for longer than a minute or so.
Try flying the ILS manually using the Flight Director and maintaining 5° angle of bank towards the live engine, keeping straight with rudder.
I’ll boot up my PMDG a bit later and test it out. It should be possible.

No worries at all, we’re here to help 😉
That’s a shame that it wasn’t what you were after, hopefully with the FSX patch you can enjoy a few more ground vehicles etc.
I’m sure the instructing will be “interesting”, especially after some of the things my CFI tells us what the students “get up to”, should make good clean fun 😀
Hopefully I won’t be instructing long, I should get an interview with the recommendation within 10 weeks touch wood.
Ken
Sorry but I couldn’t find one either, will a baron in MS Flight Sim suffice? if so there are a few downloads available.

If you log in to Avsim and do a search in the file library for PMDG Tutorial you can download a couple of great ones which covers the FMS.
Alternatively have you got access to a microphone? if so great, if you also have MSN messenger or Skype (which is free) then we can connect and talk on there and I will talk you through setting up the FMS & autopilot step by step, I’ll even show you some tricks with the Flight Director which is a great peice of kit, I’ll have you flying ILS approaches in manual mode all the way down to the numbers from 10nm out 😉
Let me know

Hi eu
Yes we won, always good 😉
Bear with me, I will do you a tutorial complete with pictures but I am a bit busy at the mo during the evenings, I will try and start constructing it tonight.
Expect something by the weekend if I can

This has to be a record, this thread is 4 YEARS OLD 🙂
Please read the CoC regarding the resurrection of old (or in this case, jurasic) threads

Hmm
This is a mamouth undertaking to write it down, I am off to play cricket now, I’ll try and type the basics of it later when I get home

DANGER!!! Vacuming inside a PC can build up a big static charge and zap ram and or processors I have been told.
Beter to use canned air products that are designed for the task. While cleaning, check the fan in the power supply as well, had a couple of those go over the years, that will give you trouble as well.
That’s all well & good CS but if the crap was embedded like it was in the sis in-law’s PC no knd of air canister will get it out.
And yes it is always wise to earth anything that you are putting inside your PC, even your hand 🙂
Hi John
Unfortunately I don’t know of any add-on that will give you that specifically, however, there are a few add-ons that will give you airport specific ground traffic, but this generally comes as a bit of a novelty with the package, I think something like “world airports 2004” gives you some ground vehicles but it isn’t that great and is generally a processor drain.
I’ll keep my eye out and shout up if I see anything.
As far as job hunting is going, well I have a recommendation to a major UK carrier, this recommendation is held in high regard, I just have to wait for the phone call, I am banking on it being towards the end of the summer. It’s kind of strange, because I have had the fATPL since March and I haven’t sent out a single CV yet, mainly due to the recommendation. In the meantime I am doing a Flight Instructor’s Course so I will be instructing within a few weeks.

Try this, switch off your PC and then take off the cover to your PC.
Check inside and ensure your processor fan and your processor itself is free from a dust build-up. You may have to take the heatsink & fan off the processor to get to the processor. If you look on your processor you “should” see some cooling fins” (dependant on processor type), just ensure these are fully free of dust. Then do the same with your graphics card.
Give that a go, it may work, it may not. But my sis in law’s PC kept switching off after 30mins or so, and after I had vacuumed it out it solved the problem
Report back to us and let us know

Hi John
From what I can gather with this program it is actually an enhancer that you have to physically “make work”, what I mean by this is that it is you that adds the scenery that you want to see, so if you add nothing then obviously you will see nothing. It is basically a scenery editing tool.

Hello eu
Well I’d imagine there’s alot more I don’t know than what I do know, I think I have been lucky where the questions asked just happens to be the ones I know about, however I would imagine that luck will run out sooner or later 😉
No, the FSNavigator SIDs & STARs go into C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9ModulesFSNavigatorSidStar
Any SIDs or STARs you get for your respective payware aircraft will be placed in, for instance the PMDG 737/747 here C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9PMDGSIDSTARS
And for the PSS payware aircraft, they go here C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9pssNavData
Hope this helps
