[QUOTE=Pete Truman;1231730]I’ve looked at the list of participating RIAT aircraft and can’t see a Lysander on their listing, and thats dated 1st March.

Its on the most recent FRIAT list as flying, still it could attend both shows.

I think the P-38 was part of a trade and never destined for the UK, as Mr Grey cannt fly twins anymore and so they are only going for single engine types……and yes I know about they have Beufighter but thats why it was put up for sale.

Not even half way through Febuary and you arm chair experts are moaning about Legends get real people or at least get a life as far as I’m aware legends has been on the same date for years so why should they change and for the odd one or two who allways moan about shows and want some thing different Hey walk around with a smile on your face and say great, the show organisers have done a great job now that would be different and worth the entry fee alone. I reckon a few of you lot could moan for England

Im moaning about the date not the show!
Im a big fan of Legends and this will be the first one that I have missed since they started, thats why im gutted about the clash of dates.
Oh and I think you will find its more than one or two as most aircraft magazines have made comments about this, and not very favourable ones at that!
Ultimatly it makes no difference as its the general public who brings in the money not enthusiasts

I wasn’t a fan of the Typhoon until I saw a full display and watched a couple on the bombing range at Holbeach, when they say it climbs like a homesick angel they are not lying!
So what modern stuff would you put in?

No reason for the Vulcan to be there, having said that they did have a F-15 flypast!

It is RIAT that brought theirs forward, why should Legends change theirs?.

    Brian

RIAT dates were released 2 years ago for the next 10 years due to them tying up with Farnborough.
Still if they brought it forward then it would clash with Waddington, not that im going this year as Iron Maiden are playing Twickenham:D :diablo:

I would love to see this happen but I just can’t see it, not only because of the costs ect but what about insurence? With all of the outragous rules being brought in it looks imposable that any large bomber would come over.
There is no way that the BBMF would go there as far as I know the Lanc has never displayed outside the UK.

Hi everyone, since we are in the new year, not tooo long until Farnborough:D

I was thinking of what will turn up. Apart from the standard Beoing, Lockheed Martin, Eurofighter, Saab, Airbus aircrafts, what may turn up?

Could any new Flanker series turn up, i.e Su-35, 34?

Could the F-35 make a breif appearence?

Will Saabs new gripen turn up, the super hornet powered version?

And is it pretty certain the F-22 Raptor will make an apperance.

Hopefully it will be a Farnborough to remember, like in the 90’s where we were treated to the best of the west, and the east.

I would not expect any Su’s turning up as I believe they stated last year that they were pulling out of displaying there wares due to costs:mad:
pretty certain of the F-22, dont count on it! it was pulled from Paris which has alot more pulling power than Farnborough because it upset the training scedule!!
    F-35 supplied by Airfix:D 😀 😀

Duxford were pushing the film last year! They had a special screening and a competition to win a box set. I am not sure which show it was though.
I think it is wrong to have a dig at Duxford for being out of touch, I am sure that the majority of people who visit have never even seen the film as it wasnt a sucess and most visiters are not enthousiasts.

Yeah was that at RIAT? The Lanc has flown in some formations but they are very few and far between.
The fighters seam to be doing more formation work now. I remember at one Flying Legend when they wanted to do a four ship Hurricain formation( the first for a number of years), but the BBMF wouldn’t or couldn’t play so they sent up two or three Hurries straight after the BBMF display and they had them all up in the air together, just not in the same piece of sky.:D
I think it has something to do with them still being owned by the RAF and so everything has to be cleared by them.
