There are a number of spots to choose from. If you want to be on grass and not the hardened areas then there is an area at the end of the corporate tents (Airspace hanger end). Then there is my faverate spot at the tank museum end, you get alot of stuff bank over your head and you seem really close to the action!
    Hope this helps

    Hi Tony
Arrivels start on Wednesday the 11th. You might see the odd VIP before that date, but dont quote me on it!
The first arrivel is normally around 8ish but it pays to get there early to get a good spot.
If yo are staying in the area there is always Brize and Lynham to keep you occupied.
    Hope this helps

    Hi Gents,

Today’s cancellation has little to do with weather I fear. With the UK currently on the highest state of civil alert then it follows that all MOD establishments will be on the military equivalent. Those that post on here and are ex forces will know.

These conditions require 100% checks of ALL persons & vehicle’s entering MOD establishments whether for a public event or an ordinary working day for that matter. Simply put there is no way that the station would have the sufficient manpower to implement such checks. Faced with the situation the only thing they could do was to cancel the event.

So why were people being let in at 7.30 before they decided to cancel then?!

Flying Legends is a show I have not been to before either, this year I will be there and I would love to hear more about it, regardless of if it is an unspoken topic. I’d rather know as much as possible from the people who have been there. I’m looking forward to what promises to be a great airshow.

I go every year and have never been disapointed!
I always try and get there for 8.30 at the latest to avoid any ques. The best carpark is the Royston end as this is on the airfield. I normally leg it after the last ballbo pass at the end of the show to avoid getting stuck in traffic. If you are not in a hurry to leave then I would reconmend staying for the run and breaks to land as they are really impressive.

Delights to look forward to this year is the P-38 Glacier Girl, Pearl Harbour P-40 and the new TFC P-51 and you never know what might turn up from Europe!
Of yes and take your own food and drink…..it will save you a fortune!!!

For me Legends is the BEST vintage show around! Think of it as RIAT for warbirds!
I just can not understand why people have an issue with this show, great aircraft (many of which ONLY appear at this show), great personalities and great flying, what more could you ask for?
It would take alot for me to miss this show and I cann’t wait for it.

As for F-15s……..dont think so, wait for RIAT as they have the usual P-51 – F-15 heritage display.

    Hello Brian

The furthest most wings appear disproportionatly larger on some shots, or is it my eyes?

    Cheers

    John

Its just an optical illusion and can be seen in most Spitfire shots!
(i think its all to do with curves and angles)

    Definate no!
They were going to come to Paris but it would disrupt the training to much! Although it might be seen in Japan…..of all places!

    great shots!
I wish I could of gone, but Iron Maiden playing Donnington for a fourth time won the day!!
Still had great views of landing airliners at East Midlands and a marvelous Spit and hurricain flypast.
