We live in a multi-racial and multi-lingual Britain. Like it or not, it is not the nation of Queen Victoria where we hang monkeys on suspicion of being French.
Why don’t we just relax a little – carry on happily being ‘White British’ if indeed that is what one is, and not join in looking around waiting rooms checking the origin and skin colour of our fellow patients and their families. Whatever happened on that day, the facts are what they are.

As many as 8? Surprising she had time, what with all the weapons training.
.. but seriously, which paper was that? It is one that assumes their readership is not capable of basic maths. Lets keep it simple and say a school roll of 400. So that’s 400,000 new places – for 20,000 immigrants. Or twenty children of school age for every one counted adult.

JG, Dave only has to offer 20,000 places. As refugees in need of a home, I am sure people will come. Might not be their first choice, or even been considered before, but I am sure 20,000 will accept. It might surprise some to know that I don’t actually think this is a good idea at all. We don’t have enough housing as it is, and if they’d rather be in Germany.. then I have to agree with the Eurosceptics on this one.
A caliphate is just a state run by a Caliph. Al-Bagdadi is a Caliph in the eyes of his followers.
Jim, confused as to why one would need to grant amnesty to a legal immigrant?
The picture behind the immigration stats in the ‘grey’ areas is a complex one, and we need to look to the world’s comfortable middle classes to see all of it. As an observation, the biggest ‘hole’ locally to me has been fake academia – Real institutions selling ‘courses’ for the kids of wealthy foreign parents. Locally the racket is to pay Anglia Ruskin ‘University’ to take the little darlings in Cambridge, so they can tell their friends at dinner parties that their kids are at Cambridge. The kids tend to stay on, at which point their legal status ranges from dubious to none.
However, because these are rich kids bringing (dad’s) money in, this is overlooked in the way that needy people are not – until someone asks for stats! A moral maze.. Discuss 🙂

Oh for heaven’s sake. Banging on about ‘this country’. No journalist could find anyone in Hungary, Austria or Greece who expressed any interest in coming to the UK at all! The majority wanted to go to Germany, some said Sweden or Norway.
When your forces are engaged on several fronts in the Middle East and Africa, why on earth would you train people in the use of AK47’s in these regions and then send them far away to a small island off the far coast of Europe?
Yes there is a terrorist threat. But running round barking like a guard dog confused by a squirrel doesn’t help.

Sad, isn’t it?

Fair ‘nuf. Maybe I am a bit touchy these days.

No John. Saying that ‘most’ of them are weapons trained is just bollox. Nothing to do with ‘mindsets at play’, just nonsense.

Yep. The sad part is there is just as much British talent and skill ‘out there’. But precious little is harnessed to the UK economy.
