Nice set of photos. The close-ups of the Hurricane and Spitfire landing or taking off are particularly effective.

Good collection of pictures, 92fis.
The Hurricane and the P51 in landing configuration are particularly nice.

Shoreham more part 2
Thanks for your comments.
This was my first time at Shoreham and it has a great background location for photography. The show organisation kept the planes coming with a wide variety of types, so there was plenty of opportunity to practice aviation photos.
The day was very sunny and the bright or white painted aircraft like the Catalina stood out well. It is an interesting aircraft, because of its role as an amphibian and its wartime history.
The only problem was the no-show of the Vulcan. I was at the Waddington show this year on the very wet Sunday, and it could only do a ground run. So this is the second show for me with no Vulcan aerial shots!

Motorlet_M701_turbojet
The engine I was origionally searching for was the Czech Motorlet M701 turbojet, as used in the L-29 jet.

The engine is a single-sided centrifugal front entry compressor with a single turbine stage. A bit like the DH Goblin with a Dart type combustor stage.

CASA101
Neat looking – CASA 101.
Vampire with Afterburner
Just a footnote to this enquiry, there is a good article in Flight magazine on the Vampire reheat system. Dec 22nd 1949 issue.

Also this for a picture of the reheat tailpipe and modified higher tailplane.

Hi Rob68,
Your shots of the Vulcan holding the nose up on its ground run look dramatic with that dark background.
I was able to get a view looking from the back. Looks a somewhat better day in my first picture.
The Vulcan is impressive close up as well!

Wet Vulcan
I went on the Sunday and all I got was a soggy alternator-failed Vulcan ground run. Still, it’s good to see it in flyable condition.
The other displays were magnificent, particularly the Mirage and Typhoon with their afterburners, which lit up the skies.
For some other Sunday pictures see http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=82269 on ths site.

Wet Sunday
All we got on Sunday was a Vulcan taxi run, no flight.
Some opportunity for photos though, a nice shot of the Lanc and the Waddington static Vulcan.

Wet Waddington 2008
I went there on the Sunday and had to see everything through the rain. Also no Vulcan flight, except a taxi run.
However there were some good moments and some are captured here.
Enjoy.

Belgrano, 2nd Argentinian warship put out of action.
The Belgrano being outside of the Exclusion Zone when sunk is always being brought up as an indication that the Argentinians were led to believe that no action would be taken against it.
This could hardly be so, when they took hostile action against UK forces well away from the Falklands, and received immediate military response.

Belgrano, 2nd Argentinian warship put out of action.
What most people seem to forget or do not know, is that the Belgrano was the second Argentinian warship to be taken out by force, by two weeks.
The submarine Santa Fe was attacked and captured in South Georgia, which is something like 500 miles outsie of the Exclusion Zone.
The Argentinians cannot claim that adequate warning of hostile naval action was not given.

Goblin Data
Paul,
What are the name and publication details of the manual?
Thanks,
