power only accounts for so much i think that prop design at high rpm is critical due to the onset of wavedrag when the propellor tips approach the speed of sound
sabre dry weight is 1,070kg and the griffon is apparently about 900kg

now, the people have said that they want her back, and this in my opinion is a sterling effort by all those involved. I think this is going to have to be the last of the string of cries for money, i agree that there have been some unfortunate circumstances, but things need to change, get celebrities involved with the advertising, get her more public and possibly find a free home?
or are these all too idealistic?
if you’re going to spend millions of pounds building one off aircraft, why would you build something similar to those built before? my aim was to lower the cockpit within the fuselage and move it back a bit too and use learjet/mustang wings similar to the seafang etc
bu99er!
another one 😉
same princible as mounting a large american radial into a fury/sea fury?
having bothered to actually do my research, there is negligable difference in the size of a rolls royce griffon and a sabre, the sabre being 5 inches wider either side of the centrline than the griffon, still it would be a monster XD
has to be, i dont think there were any other large T tail aircraft in the Raf with dihedral on the elevator

always thought the merlin engine looked ugly on an aircraft designed for an inverted V
is it the rarity of daimler benz engines that see’s few DB engines mounted in 109s?
