agree with Snapper that everyone has the right to their own views but volunteers at museums have to be aware that when “on duty” they are representing the organisation and should choose their words carefully, especially in view of the fact that many visitors to our museums are from overseas.
Boom….
I have sent them a few e-mails explaining my frustration at date clashes throughout the season, anyone have an explanation?
sorry, have I been missing something? I always thought that the stepladder was a basic method of seeing over some sort of object to get a better view/photo. If these things are being used in the middle of an open field, why are they being used? or did the cows suddenly run away?
Polikarpovs 🙂 – surprised nobody mentioned them earlier. Only seen them in the hanger (really punchy and cute looking at the same time) but even to jo public, they would offer something that looks and sounds very different from the “average warbird”, even my wife could see the difference between a Polikarpov and a Mustang. This is where something like the Apache falls down, it is unique in the eyes of the warbird fan, but for jo p, it’s just another Spitfire.
But could a warbird be further away from Dx than NZ?
in two words, better food. Always thinking with my stomach.
If the flying content could be improved, it would be. What more does Mr Grey have to do to convince you that he will always do his best to produce a good show. If there are aircraft that don’t appear, there will always be a reason. Don’t you think he and his team start planning the event with a long wish list? If cetain aircraft cannot take part (for whatever reason), I am sure that he is just as dissapointed as the rest of us.
On the positive side, small tweeks to the way the aircraft are displayed (pyros for example) would impress jo public. Also possibilities with more imaginative use of audio. And what about live web video for those poor souls who can’t make it? (I stayed up late to watch the live feed from Wannaka show 2 years ago)
Or a photographers/enthusiasts day on the Friday? just small ideas…….(and I didn’t even mention the j word)
at a sunny Duxford, 2003, big air fair to see it again…
happy memories of holiday in USA (and first image posted)
Oh, that really does look a horrible mess. What a dreadful way to treat a Firefly 🙁
intriguing, what do you mean by ” not to mess with”?, does he have a good left hook?
I remember at the Fighter Meet shows at North Weald, the aircraft were parked on taxi ways on the crown side so you could get really close but everyone was very safe.
Was North Weald the only airshow that you could catch the tube to?
Great memories 🙂
thats a big effort considering the small role the aircraft played in the movie. Has anyone go the new DVD with the extras? worth shelling out for ?
I really would like to get my hands on a copy of “B25s do fly in IMC”, if anyone knows where I could get a copy, I would be very grateful.
weird reply or what???
Dear Mr Beardmore
Thank you for taking the time to e-mail BA.
I am sorry you are disappointed with the public air shows held for
Concorde’s retirement.
We value your feedback and your comments have been brought to the attention
of our

with wonderful irony, after e-mailing off the compliant, I received news that I had succeeded in the ballot and won 2 tickets to the viewing enclosure. Attendance proved my orriginal point that BA were happy to do the minimum required to have an event. The temp grandstand was accompanied by around 20 portaloos, a coffee/sandwich stand and little else. Again, a complete lack of imagination or will to make this e decent event.
