Nothing wrong with Interflug! I flew with them PRG-LZG-SXF and SXF-PRG many years ago – storming flights, on IL-18s!
And yes, happy birthday!

Disaster – now T1 will be infested with all those Ryanair passengers too!

Well, given recent news it would seem like tunnelling under the runway could be a better solution that putting a level crossing on it – would hate to see the mess if someone left their Cessna parked in the wrong place! 😉
Andy
PS: I think its Le Touquet that has a level crossing on the runway!

I believe its a winter lease to allow German Wings to evaluate the type, so unlikely to get a full paintjob. Maybe they’ll like the 717 and order some?

Can you PLEASE put the date in the title of your topics – when I see “Man today” I have no clue whether its an old topic that’s come back to the top, or a new topic with some fresh pictures.

Any idea what the loads are at BHX David?
I could imagine they are high with the B777 and now the twice daily A332 on its way.
Its been very busy each time I’ve been on it, and in fact last time it looked like I had to go to DXB there was zero availability business class both on the day I was due to go and on a day either side! BHX was slated to go double-daily a while ago but lack of equipement resulted in a switch from A330 to 772 instead – now EK ar getting more equipment the dual 332 can go ahead.
EK have realised, like CO to the US, that there is good business to be had from the UK regions, IF they can deliver critical mass in terms of onwards connections to plenty of attractiv/popular destinations – relatively few of the pax on the DXB services are actually going there and most onwards connect even if they spend a day or two in Dubai on the way there or back.

I think you’ll find the 1GB card will give you up to 450 pictures – the 350 is estimated by the camera based on a standard file size, but as JPEGs are compressed when being written to the card, often more will fit on the card than the camera initially expects – this is especially true for aviation photography where the [hopefully] large areas of blue sky are compressed by the JPEG compression routines meaning that file sizes are often smaller than “normal”. You’ll find its wierd – as you shoot you’ll find that sometimes the number of remaining images before the card is full does not go down – but its just because the camera is constantly re-evaluating based on how much of the card is actually used by the pictures already on the card.
On the other hand, if you shoot RAW (for ultimate quality) then the card will only take around 130 images.

I’ve just orderd a Canon A95, any good? Please say YES lol 😀
Review at Canon A95
Seems to be regarded as good as a general snapshot camera, but it won’t really give you the reach for aviation photography as the long end of the zoom isn’t long enough, unless you can get pretty close to the airplanes. So, YES, providing you understand what you’ve bought it for.
