Dear Austin.
It is nothing more than scaremongering. And the NDA has already promised legislation safeguarding our interests in the Nuclear deal. The Alliance with United States does not mean we have to sign the CTBT or FMCT. And we will not. These people represent the remnants of decades old anti Americanism, but thankfully it looks like both NDA and UPA are committed in continuing the good relations with the United States.
Moreover its election time and Anti Americanism is the buzz word for the third front, so you will see more and more experts coming in and saying this till the elections are over.
The P-15B’s will be very capable ships regardless and will work well with in the Indian Navy or possible Allied Battle Group!:D
True I believe Indian U.S Korean and Japanese navies will be closely networked in the future. There was the news of Chinese anti ship ballistic missiles aimed at super carriers. May be closely networked ships radars and other assets will offer the best defense against such attacks. 😎
Indian analysts are predicting the potential impact this launch could have on the Malabar exercises going to be held between India and U.S off the Japan coast.
I would also assume that the MIg 29K will be less capable than the Su 33 SM. May be that would change when the Mig gets its AESA.
And they were saying they are going to buy Mig 29Ks for new carrier. Damn these Russians sure are confusing :(. Internal struggle ??
lol Russian supplied engines to FC-1 and they will fade out as strategic ally.
what about US, Europe which openly sell and donate so much equipment to Pakistan.
I am saying not right now but in the medium-long term future our interests will not be convergent with that of Russia and will be more in line with that of the United States.
i
have told about French fighters during 65 war.
Do you think 1965 is not serious war?
US imposed embargo on both India & Pakistan during the war. Pakistan suffered but luckily India didn’t as most of its equipment was from British and France.
forget about French, take the case of British which is lot closer ally to United States, we have purchased tons of military equipment post-indendepence from them and never faced problems.
Lets say that the French. British and Russians supported us during wartime because none of their interests were at stake. This was at a time when India despite the NAM non-sense was allied to the Soviet Union and America to Pakistan, now it is the Pakistanis not us who should feel bad about American embargo on them because they were U.S allies while we were arguably in the enemy’s camp as far as they are concerned. During the Sino Indian war U.S gave us transport and other support and was willing to offer more if we so wished, while Russia was a spectator. I am saying when it comes to war countries act according to their interests at the time and not according to any ‘friendship’ policies which are rather hollow in international politics unless you have a written agreement or membership in an organization like the NATO. Its not something new if you look at history (how poland was pledged support by the allies in WW2 and left to German will) (the fate of the Soviet-Nazi non aggression pact, etc.)

Yes it is in some way. At a given point they do become a trip-wire or red-light.
Something like a blown-up destroyer can be judget as an accident or skirmish and did so several times. To sink a CVN is a mayor exercise and the ones doing so can assume, that the USA can see that as an offical declaration of war.
And why would an all out officially declared war be better than a skirmish ?? Blowing up of a CVN is beyond the capability of non-state actors.
lol, why do western reporters always like to mention China as a potential customer. Lets be honest. Most kinds of ship China needs, they can build themself. Why need Amur when China has Type 41? The only thing China is missing is an aircraft carrier, but that will be the last thing it need from Russia for its navy.
Did China not receive some Kilos recently ??
India and America 🙂
Possibly with Anti Submarine Warfare in mind.
Good to see us agreeing on something, finally.

Still its all good expect Japan to have them operational by the time the Chinese get their first carrier ;).
Why not? If true, that’s crazy – and verging on treasonous. The priority should be whatever is most needed at the time, & that isn’t for the air force to decide, but the overall command.
I thought the navy does many of its operations in co-operation with the IAF. Especially patrol operations. I expect refuelers to be made available to them. Lets not jump to conclusions about the refueler after looking at drawings.
