hi res:

I’d like to thank the FSB in particular, who in keeping the lid on this baby tightly shut, were clearly thinking of us key pubs forumers- to heighten the surprise, shock & exhileration……..you just made my decade guys, thanks!!!!!!
I’d don’t mean to say I told you so (about YF-23 similarities)……but I told you so). Moveable LERXs- possibly, new holographic HUD?
Look for the 2 smaller side bays on the intakes.
The IAF clearly made the right choice. “The most momentous day in the history of the VVS”?- you’re not kidding……to all the guys @ Sukhoi- absolutely fantastic effort -you out-dulered duler (I never doubted you for 1 minute).
…….I’m off to have a lie down…

Sferrin, you’d better e-mail LM and tell ’em these guys are serious huh?
:diablo::diablo::diablo::diablo::diablo::dev2:
YES WE DID!!!!!!! YES WE DID!!!!!!!!…….YOU ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL BAAAAAAAADAAAAAAAAASSSS-MOTHAUKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
………BYE-BYE F-35…..(0.5m^2- DON’T MAKE MY SLIPPERS LAUGH!!!!!!)
I’ll hold you in around 3 hours- when the pics come out……signing off, with a fcuking big smile on my face!!
С Богом!!! She’s up!!!
10:09 local time, excellent weather conditions (not a cloud in the sky)…….
Is this disinformation? Or.. is what we’ve been fed this week been the disinformation?
The article probably refers to Article/engine 117, PAK-FA will [tomorrow] fly with 117S which has been flying for 3 years (as opposed to 45 mins for the 117).
Much of the initial flight test programme will be conducted with the 117, then the definitive engine when it’s ready. So ff March with 117 is not unreasonable assuming everything goes well with the Su-27M b/n 710, Savvy?
@Tango III, google translate is far from perfect and has screwed up the tense of the verb(s).
Is the FreeWilly brigade spreading disinformation again?

Something to tide over mrmalaya & QuantumFX:
90% of the capabilities at 50% of the cost
That’s the old F-35 mantra!!…..’till it turned out 90% of the cost @ 50% of the capabilities!!:D
Interestingly, a Russian news site reported today that it bears more resemblance to the YF-23 than the F-22. Time will tell, T-minus 24hrs.
Nighty-night Sergei Bogdan (again).
Сергей Богдан -Желаю хорошего полета!! удачи!!
Seriously, this to me is akin to the feeling before a crucial world cup game.
When I was a kid and first saw the leaked ejection test fore-section pic of the 1.44, I thought it was a prop for some sci-fi movie. When I first saw the S-37 my gobsmacked reaction was second only to that of seeing the YF-23…..now after years of will-they, won’t they- the words ‘conservative’, disappointing, over-hyped- simply don’t figure 😉
Сергей Богдан -Желаю хорошего полета!! удачи!!
My thoughts, as well.. 80% F-22 at 50% price tag would be just about the smartest thing they could do.
The bad news is the reported unit cost of $100m is both premature and optimistic. The good news is at this premature & optimistic price tag (considering you’re factoring in cheaper Russian personel, material & manufacturing costs)- it’s going to be a very serious piece of kit!!
Goodnight everybody, sleep tight!! (unless your name’s Sergei Bogdan).
Warning! Beautiful legs can cause Havoc…..mmmmmmmmmmm……..

(btw, is everyone else expecting both this and paralays forum to crash within about 30 seconds of the first published photos? 😮 )
Copy & Paste this:
пак фа первый полет
‘PAK-FA first flight’, in Google (Google News, in particular) if the official Sukhoi & KnAAPO sites go down (or don’t have anything).
The premier Russian TV sites for news streaming are:
I think that would mean more conventional (and less Stealthy) shape.
Frankly, I would be surprised if Russia has the capability of designing something as stealthy as a Raptor even decades behind. I expect the PAKFA to be much inferior in stealth shapewise, as well as IR (considering how the F-22 cools its exhaust)…
…somewhere between and EF and a Raptor but less than the later.
You mean like a MiG 1.44………please
g_o_v, have you heard of something called ‘Moore’s Law’?
It may not match or better the F-22’s RCS figures, but it will those of the F-35- I have no doubts.
On the 21st Jan. @ Zhukovskii, the first flight of the flying lab Su-27M (b/n 710- see QuadroFX’s pics above re:’117′) with engines developed by NPO Saturn for the 5th Gen. fighter, took place. The flight lasted 45 minutes and went without any glitches.
Note they ‘forgot’ to mention it’s an interim solution. It has “a brand new automatic control system” apparently.
