Can’t remember my own name, most of the time, so not surprised.

Anyway, here’s the link to the video, freshly downloaded from my camera and posted just for you guys.

Windows Media Player required, file is 1.1mb, so takes a moment or two to load up even on ADSL/Cable broadband.

Yes, I know, I named the file incorrectly – but dont let that disappoing you, if you save it, you can rename it appropriately!

I think I might have a movie of Lindy on a run at Bruntingthorpe. If I can find it I’ll configure it for the Internet and post a link below.

But its 3am now, and I’m gonna switch off and watch Roseanne – so there!

Wow – I do hope someone comes along who can afford to buy the Meteor & Vampire, and keep them flying together as the Vintage pair! With both of them having nearly half of their fatigue life remaining, they sound like good value given their historical importance.

Sadly, I wouldn’t know where to start and know little of which I speak!

Much much closer to 2/3rds, than 1/2th I think. Even so, it’s an awful lot of money.

Granted, and I did understand that.

So is this aircraft going to have to be “unglued” or is that “deglued” and a new bonding process applied?

Is that possible, or is she being restored for static display only?

Even if only static, what are the chances of something dropping off or peeling apart sooner or later!!??

Wouldn’t have the patience to wait for the next 5 or 6 small parts you get with each magazine.

But surely this must be true of all aircraft with bonded parts?

Most aircraft built today would use such techniques, I believe.

we have all seen too many crashes

Call it luck, or simply the law of averages, or whatever you like, but I have never witnessed an air accident. And given the number of shows I’ve seen and my RAF career I think this says a lot for how professional pilots really are. Accidents are still, thankfully, rare events – it is the media and our unprecedented access to news today which highlights these rare events so that they do not seem so.

I was on duty at RAF Lossiemouth in 1974 (I think) when we lost a Jaguar practicing for a display. If I recall, it narrowly missed the bomb dump. However, I didn’t see the accident myself. The pilot banged out ok.

Nevertheless, my personal thanks goes to all those that have lost their lives, and those that haven’t, for giving me so much pleasure over the years.

Good luck to everyone next year.

I’ve emailed to ask if they are having a photocall day, a-la Yeovilton, but I guess they’re all on leave at the moment.

And how does one get an invite to the crew room?

Not much, but I did take a few photos Click This LInk

I was amused when the Nimrod flew over at 200ft, quite loud, but nothing visible whatsoever!!!!
