wishing Legends migrated to Midland, Texas!!

That would only be acceptable if we all migrated there too.

I happen to like Colorado (See Here). How far is it from Midland?

Well if there are any of those available, at that price, at Duxford, I’ll be buying one. However, it’ll probably go straight into storage because my flat is so pokey I can’t even swing a mouse.

Ditto – if I get anything worthwhile.

I may also do a video of some of the event which I can share on DVD.

How about a Douglas A26 – are there any airworthy?

    Otherwise Glacier Girl.

And if Jets are allowed the RNHF SeaHawk.

    Or – a Grumman A-6 😉

Haven’t flown in a chippie for, what, must be 34 years or more as a cadet, and about the only thing I can remember is that we never landed – simply turned right at the end of the runway, taxied in and stopped!!!

The pilot seemed pleased when I said I hadn’t realised we were actually on the ground!

Would, of course, be more than happy to repeat the experience 😉

Two English Electric Lightning jets will perform fly-pasts at the Bruntingthorpe airfield, from 10.30am on Sunday.

    Yeah, right!

I would love to be there, nevertheless, but the date clashes with other things actually flying somewhere else 😀

    Talking of Legends Secrets……..
Has anyone yet coughed Polikarpov under a guarded breath?

I tried it, but drank in too much swimming pool water – yuk chlorine 😡

The camera came with NiMH batteries

    Rechargeables – impressive!

The instructions say not to use alkaline batteries

What did they supply? I’ll bet they didn’t supply NiMH rechargeables batteries – or didn’t they supply any at all?

If they supplied alkaline, they can hardly complain if they cause damage.

Most people have donated money towards this appeal.

I think that’s highly unlikely – MOST people don’t know a thing about it, in my experience.

Most people, contrary to popular opinion, don’t go to airshows, so never ever see a blue bin.

Saturday and Sunday seem a little better in the south east:

    x3 optical

biggish planes in flight only then – otherwise tiny dots I’m afriad – unless you use the dreaded digital zoom.

Fine for anything on the ground, close too though.

any removal of redundant systems would make it unrepresentative as a type.

And is there any reason to suppose such “redundant” and therefore removed systems could not be put back in again. Would be fairly uncomplicated, I would have thought, if they’ve been put to one side and possibly cleaned up/serviced.

I don’t understand this argument – it’s simply a nutty one – remove them for flight, when people won’t be allowed to clamber all over her – then return them once she’s finished work. If they don’t have to be 100% serviceable, surely its not such a problem.

And once again, can I jsut say – it is pointless discussing where she will eventually end up, and the fate of her sisters, right now – give it 10 or 15 years – when she’s finished flying – then we can argue all we like.
