photos of aircraft don’t have to be of them flying

Of course that is true, but it is something I want to do. As you say, it is a matter of finding the limitations of the camera and working within them, One of which is shutter delay 🙁

There are tricks around that (continuous auto focus, for instance), but that brings other problems – ie vastly decreased battery life – and I am already finding that it needs a fast shutter speed to avoid over exposure – and it simply doesn’t recognise under exposure at all.

The first black hunter shot is simply horrible in my view, the original is black on a black background 😮

Ho hum, I’ll find a way of making it work as I want, even if it means buying 2 more sets of NiMH battieres.

If it took the picture I actually see in the viewfinder, it wouldn’t be so bad!

Incidentally, my own view is that I’m not getting enough quality shots from my camera – a Fuji S5000 with 1.5x telephoto (maxing it up to 15x). Some of the shots above have had to be quite heavily processed to get anything useable, and all of them have been sharpened using PSPro at least.

Of course it didn’t help that my first set of batteries ran out after about 6 shots – and I had to survive the day on one set of 1700’s Miss Demeanor was the last quality shot I managed to get 🙁

I might find a couple more though. Watch this space.
