I love the british peoples and i deeply respect them , but there’s only one fair answer to this issue (not your above btw). And i’m sure many britishers agree too.
Anyway , my “dream” argentine military is not for war, but for defense, detterence and political weight. There NEEDS to be a setlement on this (something akin to Hong Kong f.e.)

There WAS a settlement. It happened in 1982 when the Argentine forces at Port Stanley surrendered. Argentina ended any chance of getting those islands when they invaded.

The simple answer is: If the plane hooks the wire, the plane stops, if it doesnt, it keeps going.

I have been thinking the same thing for sometime. Really, the design is very flexible and can do several missions. That its larger American Cousins are ill suited for….

Nonetheless, I think it will be a very important part of any Allied Fleet.

Its “larger American cousins” do exactly what they are designed for. They arent used as or meant to be multipurpose ships. The US Navy has seen fit to use their ships as singlepurpose vessels leaving amphibious warfare to specialized ships. If this is “better” or not is, I think, a matter of opinion. Certainly it is costlier, but the US seems to be willing to accept this.

Well, the QE’s F-35B’s can perform a number of missions. For example they could provide CAP for the Battle Group. Leaving the F-35C’s available for Strike Missions. On the otherhand the USN Super Hornets could provide Tanker Support to the RN F-35B’s. So, they could operate along side the F-35C’s. (etc. etc. etc.)

On further thought I would imagine QE would be very useful added to an amphib TG. With her much larger flight deck she could operate additional USMC 35Bs in addition to her own, thus feeing up space on the “gators” for more troop lift helos.

Man, can you see the QE and Ford Operating together as a Strike Group. Escorted by Burke & Daring Class Destroyers and Virginia & Astute SSN’s! Talk about a “JUGGERNAUT”.

I dont know. It seems to me that I would love to have the Type 45s and the Astute attached, but as to the QE………….I guess it would be nice to have her Merlin sqdn for the extra ASW value, but other than that and adding another deck for helo ops, all she would contribute would be one sqdrn (8 to 12 a/c) of less capable F-35s (with less range than the “C”s) than the Ford allready carries. Would that be worth the added logistical burden? I’m not sure. And she would dictate the TFs maximum speed.

Dude, seriously, don’t y’all think the RN would’ve been better off buying two or three Ford class ships? C’mon, be honest;)

The US barely has that kind of money. The UK really cant afford those kind of ships. Plus they are over manned by UK standards.

If you look at the stats, there really has been no increase in the number of shootings like this since 1947 or so. But it really does amuse me that libs like yourselves cant see the reason for something that another country does, so you just pour out your snide superiority. The one thing that truly pleases me is the knowledge that there is not one thing you can do to change the situation.:D

All the super carriers that the USN has decommed are pretty much used up anyways. Even with a major overhal/rebuild I wouldnt think there would be much life left in them.
