What a good idea! We could give it a name reflecting that it hunts. Perhaps one suggesting that it’s mighty.

maybe something that could also carry sonobouys?

A Galeb kill with an AASM while the lybian jet was landing ! The french touch…

Also 2*rafale from the AdA, 2*mirage 2000D and 2*rafale M on a massive SCALP attack on a Lybian AFB.

Other mirage 2000D and SuE missions with GBU12 over Lybia reported by the french daily press conference.

A kill is a kill. Chalk up 1 for the Rafale.

That would make too much sense.

You can tell CVF was designed by a team who put naval aviation as second priority to looking spiffy during a sail-by review on the Queen’s birthday. If your primary mission is to fly airplanes, then get rid of the topside clutter and make room for airplanes! Alas, INS Vikramaditya has the same problem.

AGREE!!!!!!!!! And putting the GTs above the waterline?!

Didnt another country stick submarine reactors in a cv? How did that go?

My bad I should’ve been clearer: I meant ‘go through’ as in ‘be brought to service’. I just can’t imagine them pulling the plug at this point, not when there are no alternative prospects beyond abandoning Marine fixed air and the extra decks that come with that. I think F-35B was a mistake, but it’s a little too late for that now.

cancelling the “B” wouldnt “kill” Marine air. They would just operate “C”s and maybe the SH.

keep an eye on Sen Warner (D. VA). He is working on bi-partisan budget proposal based on the President’s earlier debt commision. I wouldnt lay odds on anything until his new “gang of 13” (?) come forward.

Has this quake been blamed on global warming yet? Because if it hasnt, I would like to be the first person to do that.

Looks like by the time the west descides weather to place a NFZ or not, Lybia will have crushed the rebs and had “peace” for a couple months. Wonder how many months Quadaffi will have to hunker down befor the west starts dealing with him again?

Yeah, my opinion is that the T-50 will probably win it. The AF apparently likes a supersonic trainer, and they do alot more, right now, with the T-38 than just train newbies.

An F-104 was also destroyed by a “Constitution” class heavy cruiser.
