    well, thats your unsubstansiated opinion..

    Rafale and SH could both be said to be more capable than Gripen(in some areas). However the BIG advantage they have over a “SeaGripen” is that they both exist now, and are currently operating off CVs.

    so what was it?! A B-2 or F-117?! They are very easy to tell apart. So please stop identifing this fictional a/c as “B-2/F-117”. What a/c do you feel was damaged over yugo, an F-117 or a B-2?

    No, the entire squadron, one squadron at a time. Its not “some”. Its a squadron.

    The sqadrons are hardly going to train themselves on the F18, are they?

    And they are ACTIVE pilots serving for their country.

    Quit trying to belittle them, its pathetic!

    Just trying to get ur info straight, not belittling the FAA. You are saying that now that the Harrier is gone, the FAA fast jet squadrons (was there more than one in the end?) have moved shop to the US and are training on the F-18? I assume you dont mean EVERY FAA sqdrn as most of them are on helos. If that has happened I have not heard about it and I live in a big USN F-18 area. Bout 2 miles from NAS Oceana’s main runway. Do you have any info as to what type of Hornet they are training on? Will the a/c be in FAA markings? Will these “Squadrons” deploy off USN CVs? Why has this not been publicised? Is the UK govt keeping this under wraps?!

    There is an RN squadron training on them as we speak IIRC 😉

    When did that happen?! What RN squadron is it?

    US legacy Hornets are getting a little long in the tooth and would need overhaul/upgrade. SHs………..I’m not sure of. Would any be avail?

    Please here read “at the time”, as refering to the time around the Kosovo war.

    At the time the F-117 was promoted as invisible to radar by the US spin machine.

    At the time this was allso a widely held belief on this board.

    This opinion has since changed, since in fact a F-117, got shot down, and another stealth asset got damaged in the conflict.

    The fact that we here discuss stealth in less than absolute terms, is a direct result of that.

    The Air Force has NEVER claimed the F-117 is invisible. The press might have, but, officialy, all that has evwer been claimed is that the a/c is very LO.

    At this point the AF would just be happy to get ANY new tanker.
