Here are a few pictures from two vessels in a Polish port a few days ago. Some of those containers are “mine”…

How large is the original (in pixels and dpi) and how large do you want it to be? After all, there are limits to how far something can be enlarged without making it horrible.

Is that the famous KLM swan ???

Actually, this swan seemed to be a tad too young to be the KLM swan. However, KLM has announced they intend to expand 10% over the next few years so perhaps in a few years this will be a real KLM swan. 😀

    Kickstarting this thread again.

So far I can only see 2 confirmed visitors? LBARULES and DC10FAN both on the JET2 LBA-AMS flight ETA AMS 0915. Can I expect anyone else to come over, and if so at what time(s)?

Brilliant shots Pete, less than a week until AMS, woohoo!

You call it a meet, there will be 3 of us at the most!

Only 3? Had expected more. Perhaps it is time to resurrect the AMS “meet” thread again? Would like to know at what time(s) I am expected to pick you all up.

    Nice Pictures there.
Wow that Fokker 50 looks brilliant in the new KLC colours. Can I save the picture of it please.

    James

Sure why not, right click and save as. In a few days it will probably find its way to JP.net at 1024×768 or 1024×683. Have not decided yet how to crop it.

Excellent shots! Seems wildlife pictures are ‘in’ at the moment! 😀

I take claim to having started the wildlife pics though! I was posting them before Grey started his love affair with swans! 😀

    Like I said at airliners.net,

first I would go to a camera store that ripped me off, and order the most elaborate set-up they have ever seen. Then I will ask them to send it to another franchise holder in their chain and I will pick it up there… and pay it there too! I do intend to make a picture of their face when that happens. 😉

To stay on topic, I would probably get myself a small place. And of course I would try to get a pilot license.

Why get a standard program, when you can custom design your own MS Access database according to YOUR demands, preferences and wishes? I stepped over to Access (from MS Excel) a long time ago and never looked back.

BTW, here is my 4 minute edit of one of your photos. With the original files no doubt this edit would have been better.

    Nice photo!

Some tips on photoshop. This is the order I normally use when editing photos (names of functions may be slightly different as I am translating from Dutch from a slightly older version of PS):

    Leveling
Press the U and you can draw lines. Draw the line paralel to a line you know 100% certain to run straight and vertical (a house, lamp post etc). Then go to: Picture – Rotate Canvas – Choose rotation. The computer will select the right amount of levelling to make the line you draw perfectly vertical.

    Picture – Edits (adaptation/changes???) – colourtone/saturation (CTRL-U)
Change the colourtone and the saturation. Usually a slight increase is best. The brightness depends on the weather. Bad weather needs more brightness, good weather needs less brightness.

    Picture – Edits – Brightness/Contrast
A bit more contrast usually works best.

    Picture – Edits – Curves (CTRL-M)
Great tool to make dull colours a bit more vibrant. Remember you can also select the colour you want to change. Mostly I find that a bit more blue works quite nicely. My lense is (or rather was since it passed away) rather cheap and tends to make pictures a bit greyish at long zoom due to fog/smog/glare. This tool should remove the worst of it.

Filter – Sharpening – Unsharp Mask
This is a great tool that will sharpen your photos very well! The below settings are what I normally use. Do not go higher for the radius or the threshold, as that will give edges. The amount can be changed as you like.
amount: whatever you like but usually 200-250% works for me
    radius: 0,3
    threshold: 3 levels

Have fun but be warned, photoshop can be a very adictive program!

Firstly it saves weight by removing the need for cables. Secondly it is possible to install parameters in the computer the plane may not exceed. That is for instance why in normal operations an A320 will never fly at stall speed, extreme angles of attack etc.
