what camera do you use m8?

    Canon 10D with a Sigma 70-300 4.0-5.6 lense.

and what shutterspeed was the KLM 747?

KLM was nothing special, just 1/500th.
    Transavia ‘700 was 1/30th.
Alitalia at my site was 1/20th.

excellent photo’s and nice website too:)

    Thank you!

Yes there are easy ways around to some of the spots. In fact, all the photos shown above can be had from places accessible by bus. The photos of the ATP and the parked F70 are at Schiphol Oost. The others alongside the Kaagbaan.

Oost is accesible with bus 190, 191, 196, 198 and 199. However, this place normally only has biz jets and an occaisonal KLM or charter narrow body. Should be a little under 20 minutes drive by bus.

The Kaagbaan is accesible by 191, 193 or 198. Get of at busspot Aalsmeerderweg. That’s a 15 minutes drive. From there another 15 minutes walk and that’s all there is to it. More details, maps etc at my website.

The short haul flights of a lot of the older airlines may not be profitable, they can not be missed either. If every British pasenger flying KLM long haul where to be removed, KLM would scrap most of its long haul operations. Same goes for other airlines like SAS, SNBA. If anything the older airlines will go even further to mimic the loco’s.

Low cost long haul will happen. Of course not with 50 pounds fares. But 100 or 150 pounds fares will happen no doubt about it. From time to time you can already get fares like that, you just have to know where to look.

Already Icelandair and Finnair offer great fares. From Schiphol UA and US are known to go really low. Maxjet is trying as well, though I do not know their results so far.

I believed that the last two numbers, where the numbers that the manufacturers applied to different airlines?

    No, Boeing uses that system.

Airbus has the 1st digit for the generation (100/200), the second digit for the engines and the third digit for something else (cabin layout?). If it is indeed the cabin layout that the 131 may include be cattle class only and 132 may include first class???

That’s SATA International. They only operate 737s if I am not mistaken.

Am I right that those that are actually coming will be coming for one day only? Otherwise getting a restaurant may be necessary?

I’m still on. And now no longer with my 17 years old VW Golf but with a 15 year young Renault. For those that have already had the pleasure of being driven around in my VW Golf, your next trip will be much better still.

What time are people arriving and departing as potentially it looks like i could do it….

My ETA is pretty much 1.5 hours after I roll out of bed. Will be early(-ish ;)).

Or bring basic dutch spotting equipment, the 2,50m ladder. 😀

Dutch??? I’ve rarely seen a Dutch guy yielding a ladder at AMS. Germans on the other hand take them all the time.

It is a pity the wind did not come from the other direction. If it had you would have been able to make great final approach shots.

It is possible to get to the other end of the runway for final approach shots, but I am not really sure how. You do need your own transprt though as walking there is too far and there is no public transport to that spot.

Depends on what you want. If it is cars you want the Germans win by a mile. If it is shipping it is probably England. Airplanes would probably be for France. Trains go to France with Germany a close second and England somewhere derailed a few km down the track.

Why can i love plains,But hate airports?

You got to be realistic though, there is no way to compare a plain with an airport. I mean, a plain is a wide open field with small birds. An airport is…. well… a wide open field with big birds. Have you ever had a small bird sh1t on you? Not nice heh? Now imagine a bid bird doing that to you. That thought alone should be sufficient reason to hate airports. 😀

I believe KLM is all there is. Transavia in a few months from PIK but that’s it. Perhaps you can try to get a flight through another Skyteam airline as the fares tend to be a tad cheaper that way.
