    It won’t be a tie-up between the C919 and the MS21, the article specifically referred to a wide-body. Neither the C919 nor the MS21 is a wide-body.

Also, the text does not specify if it is gonna be a passenger or cargo jet. If the former then a development of the IL96-400 seems most likely. If the latter then further developing the IL76 is a good option. Certainly the Chinese armed forces could do with a large(r) fleet of those!

I think the AN124 and AN70 are Ukrainian designs so those are not likely to be included in this deal.

They have been declared bankrupt. No statement on the Solid Air website, but here’s a (Dutch) link to the lucthvaartnieuws.nl.

With respect someone could have made that website (the way it is now) in less than two minutes. Hardly provides any proof that a new airline is on the way.

It’s also on the easyJet website. If this where a hoax, easyJet are not dumb enough to fall for it. Not to mention that easyJet probably got Stelios on speeddial 1!

Instead of messng around with the logo behind the writing they should think about a new colour scheme to replace the boring one they have now which is getting a little dated in my opinion, maybe a few retro schemes like the planes from the advert!!

Just let me get this straight, you consider the current one dated and your solution is to get some even more dated liveries instead?

I quite like the current livery. It’s still fresh. But I also liked the landor and the BOAC livery a lot so I would not mind a retro or two in the Landor and BOAC liveries.

Another vid, at 3:10 they announce a tweak to their livery. The crest will return to the planes, to be positioned behind the titles on the main fuselage in silver/grey.

The rest of the video can be safely skipped. Just a bunch of BA staff (actors?) in period uniform and a few advertising guys telling how great BA is and repeating To Fly To Serve endlessly.

Good looking. That high bow, waistline, 30mm behind the 76mm etc giving sort of the new Gepard class feel to it.
    Any export orders?

Not yet. But as part of the last round of cut-backs on the Netherlands military two of the ships will probably be put up for sale right after delivery. 🙁

It’s like ordering a new Ford Fiesta that is supposed to do 60mpg and finding out it weighs the same as a Focus and only does 50mpg!

Well, in that case the world’s automotive industry is doomed. I don’t think there is a single car whose factory fuel economy matches real life-fuel economy. And usually the difference is comfortably in the double digit percentage points.

Which airline is next to take delivery of the first A380 after Malaysian? British Airways?

I believe that China Southern is close to getting theirs first A380. Though they might get theirs before Malaysia does?

Could it be the 100th A320series actually ordered by BA themselves? Thus excluding BMed orders and the first half of the original G-BUS* series?

Maybe they are also counting the BMed A320s?

How difficult is it to get to any of the spots around Schiphol without a car?

Approach runway 06/24 Kaagbaan can be done by busline 187, 188, 191 and 198. Approach to 18L/36R Aalsmeerderbaan with busline 188, 191 and 198 but only for the western side so from mid to late afternoon onwards. For the eastern side you need busline 187 or 194 (194 does not call at Schiphol center).

Schiphol Oost’s biz jet apron is accesible by a shedload of busses. All these busses pass by the Mac Donalds spot at runway 09/27 Buitenveldertbaan. The views over 09/27 are poor since you’ll be facing the sun. But if runway 18L is in use for take-offs you can walk from the Mac Donalds to the line-up point where the photos above where taken.

When you take busline 300 (“Zuidtangent express service”) to the stop at Vijfhuizen you’ll be half an hours walk away from the start of the Polderbaan (west side). There’s a bicycle path running paralel to the Polderbaan for rougly two-thirds the length of the runway.

At Schiphol center itself you can walk to the taxiway nestled between the cargo apron and the commuter apron. Walk a bit further still and you´ve got (limited) views over the cargo apron as well as a full view over the Kaagbaan at the touchdown point. The runway faces the sun most of the day. The cargo apron can yield really good shots but without a small ladder you´re options will be limited.

There are more details at my website.

Don’t forget the check out the aviation store at Aalsmeerderbrug! It’s really huge. Busline 188 and 198.

It will be interesting to see in the future, wether the new government will continue to maintain both LAA and Afriqiyah in their pre liberation forms.

Even before the feces hit the fan the plan was already to merge LAA and Afriqiyah into one airline. I would expect this to continue once the dust settles.

could do with a direct USA / Morocco flight really:)

Royal Air Maroc flies to New York JFK. That’s Casablanca’s only destination in North America.

Atlanta seems a fair bet. All air travel in the USA goes through Atlanta! 😀

Stupid question: why not check your flight ticket? Or have you not booked your flight yet? If so, you’re a bit late!
