So many pics to choose from… pinning it down to 10 is really hard! And that is not even counting the non aviation photos! Most of the photos you may have seen here or at JP.net before, but then this is some of the best of my work!

    1) sunset, KLM 737 taking of from the Polderbaan.
    2) Helvetic landing on the Kaagbaan.
    3) my return flight waiting at SXF. Shame about the stairs. Bigger shame that they are no more.
    4) Tupolev taking of from the Kaagbaan in “rocket-mode”.
    5) UA new livery 777 taking of rather more slowly.
    6) Nice DC-8 waiting at Schiphol Oost. Unfortunately the owner replaced this plane with a 762. I don’t know what happened with the ‘8.
    7) China Airlines (Taiwan) flying away from AMS.
    8) Extremely rare plane at AMS, a Tu-134!
    9) Not rare at all at AMS, but getting rare everywhere else in Europe! NW DC-10.
    10) An-140 at the Farnborough air show. Looking rather impressive for a plane its size.

no, KLM EXEL is a complete goner. Air Exel will continue flying but no longer for KLM and no longer on KLM routes either. Expect EIN – LHR to get KLM Cityhopper F50s or perhaps F70s.

Other international flights where to HAM and CDG from EIN and to Strassbourg from AMS.

The ATRs will probably go to the Caribean or start yet another WhateverEXEL ofshoot. Right now there are about 6 or 7 EXEL brands so one or two more won’t be much of a problem!

Very small photo from the KLM site, hidden away in the fleet section. So here it is:

The F50 will get the old livery of KLM mainline. The F70 and F100 will get the new livery of KLM mainline, with Cityhopper titles in the white bit on the belly. It would appear the small ribbon will be blue, not silver. The ATRs will leave the KLM fleet as they are owned by Exel.

damn, now I will have to reshoot every Fokker again. 😡

maybe we should open a bet on when they are going to change their minds…. again

That’s a damn shame… perhaps not much of a surprise… but a shame nonetheless. My flight with them may have gone bad, but I did see potential. But from NRN attracting large crowds was always gonna be hard.

The same company owning VBird owns NRN airport. I wonder what will happen with that airport. Without VBird NRN looses something like 80% or 90% of flights and destinations. Only Ryanair is left flying daily and a charter comes in once every blue moon.
