A beech Twin of the Royal Nethlands Air Force historical flight.
A question, is the atlantic crossing on an opensky term, or is there government approval required for operating services?
At the moment that still depends per country. The UK has no open skies, the Netherlands has for instance. The joint European aviation autorities will be discussing a single open skies agreement with at least the US. I suspect the same will happen/is happening with Canada and other nations in that area.
Also, I believe the UK has an open skies agreement with some of their former colonies in the Carribean.
Isn’t the gulfstream a bit narrow for a regional? I believe it can only seat 1+1. Canadair is 2+1 as is Embraer.

How did you do the last one, my night time pics always end up blurred. Did you use a tripod and how long was your exposure time?
Really great shot! Definately a.net material there!
The mirror seems to be “aimed” at the exhaust for the center engine. Could it have something to do with that?
You’d be surprised how many Dutch people speak that language after having had a few drinks. In fact, I’ll ask my father to…
…never mind, I haven’t got a deathwish just yet. 😀
(yes, he is standing behind me) 😮 😉
Pure beez neez smashin by ra wa, honners tae any o yaz, shid ye be waantin honnered guid chinas !
Okay, so I did not give up, here is my second try at decoding.
Pure business smashing by runway, others take any old yaz, should you be wanting 100 quid (pound) chinas!
The sentence may seem a bit odd, but then, it was originally spken by a drunk! 😀
Haven’t heard anything! There are 2 or 3 parked in the desert and more will likely follow. There are constant rumours over here that one will be sold to Southern Air but only for parting out.
If it had a short upper deck like the typical 742 it must have been a new 744ERF (since all of KLM’s 742’s have had their upper deck stretched). In that case it must have had the KLM titles.
If it did not have any titles but did have a small hump, it must have been another airline. My best bet would be that it was a Korean Air.
KLM had 2 old 747 freigthers. One has been sold to Martinair (PH-BUH) and the other one (PH-BUI) has not been sold yet. I do not believe it is still in use and is likely to be the plane Southern Air has its eyes on.

Pure business smashing by runway, others take any blahblahblah, I give up.
1 Heineken and he is already drunk, and that calls himself a Scotsman! 😀
Not sure yet if I am going. It’s an awfully long trip from the Achterhoek. At least 3 hours by bike, train and bus. 🙁
From what I have heard at the weather forecasters it will be raining tomorrow. Might be better to wait for the official opening of the Aviodrome, I do suppose there will be a (modest) airshow or at least a flyby.
Also, rumours are that there won’t be a lot of flying anyway because the ATC Tower can’t be manned due to a personnel shortage. Gotta love the Netherlands. 😮
BTW, how did you get your free flight? Are you from some newspaper or something?
Where did you shot these, over Lelystad/Flevoland by any chance?
You must have been flying really high, you can even see the curvature of the earth on the 2nd pic! 😀
Bedankt Duesseldwarf!
We hebben al het geluk dat we kunnen krijgen nodig, na de ramp van vorig jaar!
Thanks Duesseldwarf!
We need all the luck we can get after last years disaster!
Remember how the normal low cost operation started?, they largely copied the charter flight procedures to those of a real airline (roughly speaking, it is more complex but this sums it all up nicely).
Now compare the prices BA or even Virgin offers with those from the travel agencies chartering Monarch and TUI. I think low cost will happen sooner or later. It will not be terribly low cost as is the case with Easyjet and Ryanair though. Remember that a plane can only fly 1 daily rotation, whereas easyjet and ryanair can fly their planes 6 or 7 times a day. Also note the politics involved. Generally low cost airlines are founded in areas where there is an open-skies treaty.
Don’t expect a return trip for a pound + taxes for quite a while to come!

Okay, I got my Euro JP 2003 edition out. Unless something has recently changed CS-TMY is owned by Aerocondor. This shed is a ‘200 series with construction number SH3632.
