If they are cutting the number of aeroplanes by 40% but only cutting flights by 30%, they can’t be making very efficient use of their aeroplanes at present, can they!
Not necessarily. They can cut the number of planes based at STN, but still increase the number of flights by using planes based at other airports.
What are the odds this airline would have been called Alpha Two? :diablo:
Round with a square hole is if I am not mistaken only used in China. So I went looking and it looks like the coin top right on below link:

Do you know what specific error you had? Normally the camera should say Err with two numbers. For instance Err-01, Err-20, Err-99.
Edited to add below list of errors on the 30D. Your camera is more professional and likely to have more error codes. But in general I would assume the codes to remain the same:
Err-01: No communication between lense and camera. Clean contacts between lense and camera.
Err-02: Problem with CF memory card. Replace card with another card, or format card.
Err-04: Memory card is full.
Err-05: Build in flash is blocked and can’t be opened.
Err-99: General error that can be used whenever the camera does not know what’s going on.
Browsing the internet I also found the following errors that are on the 5D, but not on my 30D:
Err-06: Self cleaning sensor unit error.
Err-20: Problems with the shutter. Send back to Canon for replacing. (ouch!)
Err-70: Cmos (sensor) error.
On most cameras with build-in flash there is a “red-eye” function. This will let your camera flash twice rapidly. The first flash is to make the eyes get used to the flash, and the second for shooting the actual photo.
Another option to avoid red eyes is to shoot without flash.
If after that there are still red eyes, then the subject probably has allergies. I suggest Allerfre, works miracles for me. π
A bit more of a serious answer. Prior to the airshow the air force asked around at a few of Dutch aviation message boards for a achievable wish list (achievable meaning: no Japanese F-2s, Iranian F-14s etc). The Vulcan appeared very high on most lists. So I would assume it was booked by popular demand.
Nice photos!
If that Thai 737 is still following you, could you please take a short trip to EIN? I think if you can guarantee that 737 to come the local spotters community might even chip in to pay your fare. π
I’m sure it’s a Flypaster and not a Pp****r member!:D
Why would a Flypaster go spotting at LGW? There are no planes there older then 60 years so they can’t be bothered. π
Same in NL. With the exception of the news there is hardly anything I still watch. It’s all DVDs and stuff of the internet.
The really annoying thing is, that when there is one of those imported “best of advertising” programmes on, they show a lot of Dutch adverts. Adverts that are hillarious, but that are not on Dutch TV! So the potential is there. Now, only the beer brands Heineken and Bavaria and one or two insurance companies make commercials that are fun to watch.
Most advertiements are for instant loans/mortgages and for ringtones and other junk for the mobile phones.

And why didn’t Arnie leap into the cockpit bare chested with a Tommy gun strapped to his back and save the day???
Had his Tommy gun not been commandeered by the TSA he would have done so. So this incident is exhibit number 146247 that the TSA causes more harm then good. π
Great Pics, have u seen the PK’s new service to LHE-ISB from FRA,
No, not seen any PIA’s.
What’s the story behind the french registered BA Open Skies 757 ? No Rolls Royce engines and a purple script unlike the other ex-BA fleet…
It’s one of the former L’Avion B757s that are being repainted into the Open Skies livery. The purple is a nice touch as LΒ΄AvionΒ΄s own (gorgeous) livery was purple as well.
They became Scot Airways for several years after investment from Scottish ‘Stagecoach Buses’ tycoon, Brian Soutar. I think they went back to being Suckling or indeed ‘SA’ a few years ago…?
No, they are still Scott Airways. I believe most of their fleet is currently in AF/Cityjet livery though as they operate subcharters for them.
