Er…. His site is consuming too much of the host’s server and has been suspended. Unless I’m reading this wrong then it’s hardly the web hosters fault ?
Could not agree more. When the contract between the host and Ruud was made, no doubt a few guidelines regarding the amount of bandwidth and webspace would be allowed. Apparantly Ruud went over those guidelines, and quite generously as well.
Having said that, just shutting of the site and the mail without prior notification goes a bit far. At the very least they could have let Ruud keep the mail and enough bandwidth for him to create a single page explaining the sitatuation to his visitors. And the way I read Ruud’s mail I think it is exactly those two issues that pissed him of. But then, I do not know him so perhaps I am reading to much into it.
Easiest is to get of at tube station Hatton Cross. There you will be in the approach. Walk north or southeast depending on the runway in use.
737 correct
Another 737 correct
Airbus A321? Boeing 757-200
BAe 146? correct
Embraer? correct, Embraer 190
No idea what this is Embraer 145
Fokker 100? correct
Five out of seven, not bad! 😀
The viewing gallery at Heathrow has been closed. The aviation store I think is now gone. If I am not mistaken they tried to continue for a while at the visitors center, but without much luck?
Good luck with your studies!
Some bits from http://www.bangkokpost.net/topstories/topstories.php?id=121720
Initial reports estimated that at least 60 passengers died in the fiery accident.
[…]
The visibility was poor as the pilot attempted to land. He decided to make a go-around but the plane lost balance and crashed. It was torn into two parts,” he said.
[…]
Authorities said there were 123 passengers and five crew members on board when the plane crashed at about 4pm Sunday afternoon.
CNN is reporting the flight as being Orient Thai AirlinesOG269 from Bangkok to Phuket. Flight number is probably wrong, as the Orient Thai IATA code is actually OX. OG belongs to Air Guadeloupe.
The plane broke in two upon landing. As yet no details on casualties or injuries.

Orient Thai has a fleet of 747s (10), 757s (2) and MD-88s (4). Fleetdetails from RZjets.net
Isn’t this plane basically a mock-up for the photo ops because they promised this would be the day it was unveiled?:D
As mentioned in the remark after roll-out the plane went back into the hangar for systems integration. So… yeah, at the moment it is not flyable. To say it is a mock-up goes a bit far though.
Am I the only one that does not like the look of the 787? Hope it will grow on me. Seems typical though, lately no really pretty planes have been made. The A380 is not really a looker either and the E170/190 is not my cup of tea either.
Looks very LTU’ish doesn’t it?
That would be the general idea. Air Berlin has taken over LTU so they want the brands to match each other. Air Berlin has said they will retain LTU as a brandname for the long haul flights. Of course they said just prior to the FlyDBA take-over that their brandname would be kept as well… didn’t happen heh?
will she be at Duxford on the 14th October for the close of the 2007 Display season?
Please ignore. Had a nice explanation on how this plane would not go to Duxford, then noticed the Duxford show is for october, not september.
For those that can’t wait. The 14th G-APSA will leave Lelystad for the Hamburg airshow 15/16SEP.
Can any one throw some light on this one?
I understand there is a British Midland A320 or A319 flying into Jersey next week for the Jersey International Air Display, differant I ask my self.
From some information floating around syber space it could be going to do some formation flying with the Red Arrows?
It has been some time I think since the Reds have flown with a Commericial Airliner?
With the British Midland Aircraft being blue and the Arrows Red the Airbus will stand out well if this does happen?
In the past they did it all the time with Concorde. Most recently I think they did it with the A380. I don’t understand you last question though. Why would a big passenger plane not stand out?
I am not at all an aircraft engineer, but judging from the pics this does not seem a write-off. It’s merely a tailscrape, have seen planes in worse conditions getting repaired. Only thing I can imagine being a mayor is that LCY is an airport with limited space and even more limited mintenance fascilities.
That’ll be Air Atlantique’s DC-6A, G-APSA. Fresh from a stunning repaint, we hear.
I’ve read somewhere that a Dutch TV programme will be made about a special KLM DC-6 airrace from London to Christchurch. G-APSA has been painted in the same KLM livery as the DDA DC-4 PH-DDS from a few years back.
All will be revealed this weekend at the Lelystad air show. Not sure yet if I will be able to attend it, but it will be interesting!
At the risk of igniting the Boeing vs Airbus debate…
Notice the Vatican carrier uses 737s? Shirley a sign….:D
What did you expect. The Vatican is always a tad slow in accepting modern developments. :diablo:
Nice photo, but you got to be carefull when making shots directly into the sun. It can ruin the sensor of your camera. Hope your camera is still in top working condition!
Hi everyone, I spent a very enjoyable day on the spectators terrace at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport last Friday (17th). The continued existence of this facility is to be applauded, however, it is not the easiest of locations to achieve true definitive images of the aircraft as they move around the taxiways due to the almost ever-present APU emmissions from (mainly) the KLM heavies.
Nice photos, you managed to avoid the APU heat quite nicely. To avoid the APU-heathaze just try some of the perimter spots next time. Getting to the Kaagbaan is a piece of cake even without car.
Especially like the Kaliningrad Avia and the Buraq Air as I have not got photos of those myselve yet. Seen the Kaliningrad Avia at DUS last weekend but no photo.
Am I right that the Sterling photo is from the new low-cost terminal?
Thanks all for the kind words!
Great shots mate, were you in the upper deck spotting area at CGN?
No I did not go to the observation deck this time. At first I tried the top floor of parking garage 3, but the planes where too far away for meaningful photos. So I decided to walk into the final approach. It is a looooong walk but quite nice.
The place is #4 on this map:
