Are you sure this one is for ThomsonFly? That the livery matches ThomsonFly’s does not mean much. It could also be for another airline in the TUI holding. I know that ArkeFly, JetairFly and TuiFly Nordic are also due to get 787s.
Looks very much like the weather we have had for the past two months or so. Nice result considering the conditions.
Rosie is a Bonsall DB.1, and is supposed to be a P-51 Mustang replica. I suppose if you squint your eyes real hard you can make out some Mustang features. Anyway, its registration is G-BDWM.
Would it not be possible for Qantas to fit in a round trip JFK on behalf of BA? Or do bi-laterals not allow that? Maybe other destinations closer to home (LHR).
Yes, would look really great with snow back and foregrounds! 😀
I’ve already got it with snow, I want it without snow.

I suppose that, leaving aside helicopters, still leaves a new generation strike platform, and possibly a medium/long range bomber.
The forums at scramble have a link to a site that claims that China bought the production line for the Tu-22 Backfire for $1.5 billion. I don’t know how reliable the source is though. The site mentions their source is the China Times, but their site is in Chinese only, so maybe someone who does speak Chinese can look it up?

Cool photo though!
Technically there already are single engined airliners. The Pilatus PC-12 is fully certified for commercially scheduled operations. It is used amongst other places in the USA. Probably not quite what you were looking for, but still.
Is KLM interested in the F90/F120?
KLM is neither mentioned nor hinted at.
I am surprised by the interest of Qantas.
Remeber that through partner Network Aviation there are several F100s flying on the Qantas network. In fact, several more are due for delivery.
Was Avianca not a big user of the F100?
They are retiring theirs, if they have not finished retiring them already. Last time I was at Woensdrecht there were seven Avianca F100s stored there (incl 1x Avianca Brazil). That was in May 17th, you can see a photo review here.
I wonder what the incentive for airlines are to wait longer for something – presumably – that isn’t going to better a clean-sheet design.
Bare in mind that the Fokker has a proven track record, and if very light for a plane its size. Lighter for instance then the E-190 family and from what I’ve heard lighter then the proposed C-series. A trade-off of that lower weight is that the Fokker’s range is less. For some airlines that will be a deal-breaker, for others it won’t be of concern.
Cool shots. I’ll have to try the new Kaagbaan spot. Brings back memories from the old spot. Where is the new Kaagbaan spot? How long will it remain available?
NASA is also doing going through some budget cuts.

You guys may want to think of investing in a new platform now seeing that the site keeps growing bigger every day. Or an updated vbulletin would be nice as well.
Cearly the site is growing fast, only three days ago you joined!

It’s out of focus. :dev2:
I can’t comment on the 70-300 having never used one. I have had two 100-400s though. When my gear (body + 3 lenses) was stolen it took me three weeks to figure out what replacements to get. Five seconds of that time was spend deciding to get another 100-400. If you get a good one you have a awesome piece of kit. Some of the earlier 100-400s lenses had pretty poor quality control, so do try it out a bit before handing over the cash.
